Clio Clio 1.5 dci rough idle

Anybody have experience with the 1.5 dci lumps?? (Well i know a few of you will have :D)

Just bought a clio dci 65 for a bargain price today. The issue i have is rough idle - but no warning lights on dash, pulls well with plenty of power - not bellowing out smoke and starts ok from cold. Not had it hooked up to clip yet to see if any faults - any common issues i should be checking or should i get stuck in and do a leakoff test?

No external temp sensor on this as far as i know:D

The fault said coherence when i checked lastnight - i was expecting it to say upper limit exceeded with an overboost but it does not for some reason. I dont think the fault finding symbol works on the cracked copy as you might need to be linked to the network

Coherence is the Ecu best guess, it knows something is not right because information received from sensors is not matching predetermined parameters but not above a fault threshold limit, so the slight over boost level will cause the incoherence type fault.

The actuator was seized. Freed it off tonight and the boost is back to 1bar and no more limp mode. Feels quite a bit slower though as expected !

Give it a good pull up a dual carriageway in 4th from 2k then into 5th up to 90 clicks. This resulted in an awesome display of sparks from the exhaust for 30 secs or so. Danger to manifold :D must be a lot of carbon in this engine - i guess it has not been full throttle for a long time

I wish i had taken a vid of it mate, It was epic - had no idea diesels even do stuff like that ! @Sheryl_O thought it was on fire for a moment and i had one of those thoughts of this is going to be expensive:D however from reading its fairly common for a derv to do it when worked hard. Its running better than ever now :)

When I scrapped my ex's Scenic DCi I drove it to the scrappy. It hadn't been caned for years. When I hit the dual carriageway I nailed it in 2nd and 3rd up to the governor and my dads Kangoo behind vanished in a HUGE black cloud of smoke and sparks. It was hilarious, I nearly crashed I was laughing so hard!

Been up to newcastle and back last night. Every time you go up to 90 clicks or so you get sparks out the exhaust. Its pretty entertaining in the dark:D either this is full of carbon or the cat is disintigrating ??
