Jokes aside,

A carbon plenham cover with the perpex window over the top and then have the covers around the perspex flocked or done in carbon weave would look the dogs gonads.......???????

any opinions on this or just a bad idea?
Tim

Great idea. No-one's going to sacrifice their original covers so ideally it would cover the whole central section and be opaque apart from an engine window.
Carbon would look amazing...

about the same time this thread was started? will it ever make it to production [smilie=hide.gif]

I know this thread has bee dead for a while but in the spirirt of trying to revive it:

I think the idea of a 1 piece Vac formed slightly smoked poly carbonate would be ideal. I have a friend who owns rogue systems an MR2 specialist who has products vac formed so he may be able to help out with tooling costs etc

every one likes the idea of bespoke products and would like to pay just for the item only but there is to much money that has to be spent on development first which puts the unit cost up unles like me you stand the cost of development and offer superb products at a realistic price i am but a river to my freinds

Well finally saw a very simple solution to this from, ironically, another owner called Ray (Walshy255) ...

A great simple solution, looks good and low development and production cost ... It's guess it's not all about pouring money at something (and i don't mean that disrespectfully) ... Sometimes a bit of ingenuity and thought also helps ... No expensive tooling or materials and an effective solution for many peoples requirements ...

Does look very good well done I like the way you retained the OEM fixings, still cant see the point though its not a work of art like the A8 back end.

if there was a nice unit in the back to look at then it somthing i would do maybe even double glazed well done nice to see some one else on here that is capable to bring any idea to life and just get it done to many talk the talk but fail to walk the walk [smilie=bowdown.gif] [smilie=bowdown.gif] [smilie=bowdown.gif] [smilie=bowdown.gif] [smilie=bowdown.gif] [smilie=bowdown.gif] [smilie=bowdown.gif]

Top marks to Ray on this one, simple but so effective.

How long did the last clear engine cover topic go on for without a result? :s

Well done son :approve:

I know what people mean about the Vee engine not being the best thing to look at but IMHO, and due to there being no practical room on top of the engine, it may as well be on display in some ways - the OEM covers look a bit bland ...

Seeing the engine in the back reminds me of what a special car it is - not that you need that much reminding simply looking at the car [smilie=bowdown.gif]

It is also good to see more people actually coming up with ideas and actioning modifications such as this, and the 'original' Ray has always done that ... The carbon fibre components that Oldskoolbaby has organised and Russo has made also look really good ... It all builds and adds to the knowledge and uniqueness of each individual car - which are already pretty unique by car standards ...

Now that looks like a genuine Renaultsport accessory cover for the Clio v6.

Talk us through the process please.

Top job Ray :approve:
