Cheeky ring lap why not

Cheeky lap around the ring in late season 2016.

Personal best time of the trip so thought I would throw it up. I have edited it with a bit of music in the background for something else I am on with but hopefully I've left the engine noise loud enough for the purists! :race:

That beemer going of the track and back on again would of been enough to put me of! Great video very impressive!

Thanks guys. I find that left foot braking always helps to balance the car in some of the corners and makes it less twitchy with just small adjustments. Not sure if anyone has found the same? Not sure what the beemer was quite doing as he wasn't entering the corner massively quickly anyway to run off

Great drive Dave, you certainly getting to know your car now!!! ;)
Any more plans for the future like ditching a load of weight??

Thanks v much Phil! They're such brilliant cars to drive with the rear twitching around constantly, I love it! You can feel the whole car moving in the sub frame. Old school! To be honest mate I now have another project in the pipeline which I am gonna release more info about shortly. My aim for 2017 is to get a sub 8 minute lap but I know the v6 won't deliver that so I need something with more power and handling too match. It will be on fb soon but ssshhh as it's a secret atm [smilie=yay.gif]. I was saying to Brett Dundas the other day (not sure of his name on here) of my need to get out to a show this year and meet you guys :approve: .

Have a quick look at this if you get chance. This was the lap straight after the one above and it became obvious fairly quickly that the rear tyres were cooked lol. The electrical fault turned out to be the tailgate which was not fully closed! Still a fun lap though including my missed gear! haha [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

8 min 34 BTG . Cooked rear tyres, missed gear and comical electrical fault!

Awesome. Balls of steel and that's just the passenger to trust you and not wear a crash helmet;) great driving.

As I said when we last spoke David, I bloody love seeing people taking these cars by the scruff of thier neck which I believe is the only way to drive them at 10/10ths. I miss hustling mine around hugely. Took me a couple of years and a few shady moments to get to grips with mine. It would certainly have showed our 172 a clean pair of heels when on it too. I'll have to start from scratch again now lol.

Have to admit, I haven't got the balls to do the ring in my vee. Not for any reason other than the locals drive M3's and 911's like they stole them. Well I might add.

Brett

Great lap with a passenger. You'll easily shave 5-10 sec off by ditching him.

Nice to see Vees driven hard/properly.

Great Lap!! E36 looked like someone's granny looking for somewhere to park for a picnic  Scary that they didn't bother lo look before getting back on the black.

WOW just WOW. Still contemplating if i should take mine on a track day
You will regret it if you don't! Only safe way to legally push the car to its limits (and beyond!) :approve: Just make sure that you go to an event that isn't just knobs playing dodgems in £500 bangers, chose a safe event such as OrigineRS [smilie=yay.gif] :race:

Great drive! :salut:

Left-foot braking does seem to work wonders to stabilise the car.........and, as I have said before, superb car control, and an true demonstration of how to drive a Vee, fast. Well done, and thanks for sharing. :approve:
