cheaper to insure: mk1 or mk2?

I'm by no means an insurance expert but I would have thought a mk2 would be slightly more expensive to insure if only to reflect the higher value of the car itself.

When I changed they were about the same.

Both the same insurance group, and with the strongest weightings being around the driver and the group rather than the nominal value, I'd expect them to be similar-ish too.
