For a long moment I was thinking no Vees.

Did look a bit wet, but such a great array of splendid cars to counter the weather. [smilie=bowdown.gif]

Rally Cars were the stars today James [smilie=bowdown.gif]

Funny thing was Jonathan a 6r4 owner told me that when he takes the 6r4 out he sometimes gets asked if it is a Renault - by that he means a Renault V6 [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Seems like he also gets the usual Q's we do about body kits and what engines in it etc. etc.

Spooky Martin!

Two local builders asked me about the vee just yesterday. They too believed mine to be a Metro made by Renault. :)

Looks to have beena far better day on the Sunday, good enough for them to actually pull cars out of the trailors!!

Totally dissapointed about the whole event, partly due to the weather but hyped up for nothing imo. I've seen faster driving on the local duel carriageway. Was looking forward to the noise of quattro and 6r4 but that was quite possibly the slowest 6r4 I have ever seen and he still spun it!

Sunday was probably better Iain as there was some fast action and I guess Saturday was a bigger let-down for you as you made the effort to travel a long way so your expectations were perhaps harder to meet. A slow 6r4 is not good in anyones books though [smilie=badpc.gif]

I know these events evolve over time as the Rally Day at Castle Combe has done over the years and probably also as FCS is doing so etc. As an example the Castle Combe Rally day was started, if I remember correctly, by a member on MLR club as a simple idea which gained a lot of momentum and therefore expectation early on - I went on year 1 and it was still a great event but has been improved year on year since - but the weather was also great on year 1. On another occassion the entire site ran out of drinking water and liquid refreshments due to the heat and the tannoy announcement was warning people not to drink the tapwater from the toilets [smilie=icon_eek.gif] Behind the scenes it is an immense amount of work to pull an event like this together and it does probably take a year or two to get it running slick and to incorporate the feedback from previous events etc.

Hopefully in future the Chatsworth event will take into account the possibility of poor weather. I understand the format this year was improved on previous years also.

dont be so soft, i thought you scotch were made of sterner stuff!
I fancy going next year it would be a completely different event in the sunshine!

In all seroiusness guys, an e-mail to the organisers by way of feeback for your dissappointment should add to the undoubted comments they will be getting - cause they are valid points ...
