Chat about the Kimbolton Show

Had a great day out yesterday!! The weather held out thankfully, which really made all the difference following last year ;)

Firstly, a MASSIVE thanks to Steve and Michelle for organising such a memorable and enjoyable meet.. providing a superb BBQ.. chairs.. tents etc! Thanks, as ever, to James for pulling it all together and Dave for giving up his weekend to help support James and generally set things up again.. cheers fella.! :approve:

Thanks to everyone that contributed to the fantastic selection of nibbles.. crisps, drinks etc too.

I had rather a full on week last week with work commitments, so wasnt able to pre-plan a parking layout.. so thanks again for everyones co-operation and patience with the 'make it up as ya go along' approach that was adopted this year for parking.. lol [smilie=thanks.gif] I think it all turned out pretty well in the end!.. Cheers..!

This is my favourite club show of the year... so was really good to see so many people make the effort to come along with such enthusiasm! So many clean cars!!. (with the exception of Charlie's, but we'll let him off as he was working late on it sorting a break issue out, and he did make an effort with my speed detailer on the day) ;)
Lovely to meet some new faces too..! Looch.. great looking car dude.. plate is very apt.! Covers looking great too, 'Well Done.!'

Lastly, but by no means least....Many thanks to the Dundas family for putting us up at the Dundas Lodge once again.. and again with cups of tea and bacon rolls to set us on our way in the morning. Thanks Jan and Murray, great to see you both as ever. 8) [smilie=icon_cheers.gif]

Unlike FCS which seemed to pass by so quickly this year.. yesterday was far more chilled out. So nice to sit around chatting to people.. enjoying their company.. and scoffing gateux lol.. cheers Brett.. I managed to have a little bit of the strawberry one, following your behemoth sized portion!

Such an enjoyable day!! [smilie=thanks.gif]

Sounded like a fantastic day everyone :approve:

I went to the Cholmondeley pageant of power on Saturday and that was also VERY good and chilled out with NO chavs ... Maybe also an opportunity next year for the club although the Renault Alpine stand was a great site this year for my Vee and Ashleys ;)

I have to say though I was more impressed by the air displays than the cars [smilie=icon_eek.gif] The helicopters doing aerobatics and water bucket slalem competitions yards away was impressive

I saw the Photos James, very dissapointed that there were none of Carol and her Alfa.

I would just like to take this oppertunity to remind everone about Carol and her Alfa, Carol has owned the Alfa since 1964 prior to this she wanted the car for 3 years, it was a bit of a wreck when she first got it and took it to a chap from a garage who fixed it up for her. Even fitted the supercharger back on it for her, she has enjoyed many years out of the old gril and recently went on a trip to Milan which she took the car by train there but drove her all the way back under her own steam

Just a reminder people.

Looks like you all had a great day out with great weather you lucky people! Meanwhile I was in the Welsh mountains, raining heavily, intermittent sat nav signal, fog limiting visability to 10m tops, in a rear wheel drive, mid engined car with no traction control!! Oh and surrounded by a bunch of supercars!! F40, F430s/360s, Lambo gallardo, a Nissan GTR lol! Which did make up for it! I hope to catch Kimbolton next year :) Looks like I missed out on cake not fair :( Ps I was speaking to a local about vees which may be of interest. I wont thread hijack but will pop the info in a new thread. Great pics enjoyed looking at them .... oh the sunshine!!

Cheers everyone, was a great day.

You never know, I might shock everyone next time and turn up with an immaculately clean car ;)
