carbon rear deffuser

ray

New Member
this winter i might just make a carbon rear deffuser any one intrested pm me these would be of a limited number due to the cost of set up and production and the costs involved looking to do one that will actually do some thing instead of just looking good if your interested pm me only as im sure there will be plenty of bollox written on here i about this subject

Unnecessay imo. They look terrible and i can't see the benefits being that much...if at all!!!

Ah but Ray doesn't to things by half measures, he will have looked into all the air flow, had the car in one of those special wind tunnels etc, and seen how much a deffuser would benefit the Vee. If it wasn't going to do anything positive for the car, he wouldn't be doing it I suspect.

Thought of it and I would be well up for ideas such as this, but the CF colour never seems to suit my Vee. I should have bought a silver or blue Vee, dread to think how much shit I'd be throwing at it. :)

haha! Special wind tunnels! (Outside UK weather would suffice)

It's a fair point James and i suppose it's only positive that a range of tuning parts are available for the clio v6...People want different things of the v6. I just prefer the old girl to look as good as she did from the factory! Boring sod!

cool i know ali likes his car o natural with all its flaws poor handeling poor power etc each to his own i am looking for a few like minded owners to share the development cost on this as i have coughed up for the rear wing font splitter and bulkhead in the past and when we have enough maybe four members then thats how many we will make keeping them exclusive the aluminium ones are going the right way but for my project iwant carbon so far we are at two just need another two and i can get the car to the carbon man for a measure and then take them the rea bumper to get on with it no point trying to get james involved he would never buy one from me ......................................they only come in carbon colour and it dosent sit welll on brown

Yup brown is such a shit colour, looking positively it has saved me a few bob as nothing suits it lol

I would say even people who don't join in your projects Ray respect what you do and are interested to see what you come up with and the approach you take etc. so keep us posted :approve:

will do martin i have other projects on the go for next year so when i go to wrs next year might be able to wow you all except james nothing blows his skirt up i think

Not sure if it's your bag Ray but I read a jap car mag recently where a Scooby owner had C/F panels made up for the entire car including front wings, bonnet, bumper, rear quarters and tailgate - looked amazing and also interesting reading about the effort involved in getting all the weave to line up across the panels ... but I expect the budget was pretty big, I don't remember the figures ...

Apart from:

The perspex bulkheads
The Ph2 trophy roof spoilers
Recaro seats
The opening side windows
The wee neat front spoilers

In fact there's very few mods people have done which I don't like seeing.

That's nearly Russo's car! :)

saw that martin to much money involved unless your in the game the perhaps not .................. by the way james what have you actually had done to your car?

Now that the engine is all back to standard, mag wheels, seats, front splitter and engine covers have been added. Just gentle mods. I really enjoy reading and seeing these more advanced projects and developments.

engine covers are on my list but the will have to wait till the engine is done so ic an get a carbon plenum with a perspex lid so you can see in then a carbon cover with viewing pane lto see the plenum each to there own james ;) might be one or two stealth projects by members this year james nice to see you take an interest in the dark arts

Not sure if you know Ray but James had quite a lot of engine work done at one stage, including a monster engine cover to sit over the plenum he had made, but this was all restored back to standard for various reasons - I think in some ways he has also had a somewhat dissappointing and expensive journey similar to yourself ...
