Can you reset a speedo on a 19 16v?

Just wondering if there are anyways to reset the speedo on my 19 16v after the engine has been rebuilt?

I would like it to start off on zero, I have no intentions of selling my car so it's for personal use only.

Is it true you can put a drill on the end of the speedo cable and put it on reverse to take the miles down?

Or can I buy a new one from Renault? :)

Doing it with a drill may be technically possible, but to go back to 0 will take hours and probably damage the cable in the process.

Easiest way is to take the clocks out and apart, then flick the numbers round.

I heard of this guy called Ferris Bueller. He took a day off from school a few years ago to take some miles off his fathers car....didnt work out too well for him apparently.
