Cambelt procedure questions

Hi,

Just starting to get ready to do the cam belt on my car my self and have a few little questions if anyone could help. My car is a ph1 V6.

When removing the subframe it's possible to leave the uprights and so forth in place...but how and where should the drive shafts be disconnected?

Are there any pipes/fixings that are easily missed when disconnecting everything to get the engine out?

Anyone know of the part numbers for the cam belt kit?

Oh the only other thing I was after was the paint code for the wheels?

Never done the job (Yet) but it would seem to me to make more sense having the the uprights unbolted on the top nuts and removing the sub frame with the drive shafts and suspension all intact. This leaves rear break callipers to remove (poss brake cable to unclip as well) and then the engine wiring and fuel etc.

Like I said never done the job but, Air con would be one thing that may or may not be one to watch, clutch cable, fuel lines, loom coolant hoses, earth strap from the gearbox usually, power steering lines the throttle is bi-wire I think.

Just about got the engine out...difficult trying to find time between my first love (the V6) and keeping my girlfriend happy!

I left the upright connected, that way you only have to remove the handbrake cable. Just un bolted them from the lower wishbones and then the subframe drops out easy.

I think I've got everything un done now except for the battery cable, it goes here there and everywhere instead of taking the most obvious and easy route, why make things easy hey!

Once it's out, cam belt kit, new clutch, water pump, filters, engine and transmission fluids...hell those parts are expensive from Renault!

oh and a new exhaust fingers crossed, the old one is tatty.

A quick job it turning into a bit of a referb for the whole car...these projects always seam to end up snow balling when I get stuck in!
