c1j rebuild

Member
i am rebuild my c1j engine & fitting a piper 285 cam . piper say to run the cam in for 20 mins @ 2500 rpm . all bottom end are new . has anyone had any problems when doing this.

Fairly standard stuff. Run it at the prescribed RPM for the allotted time, change the oil, go drive it about a bit, change the oil again and enjoy.

You need to do as they say and run the cam in stationary, then take the car out on the road. Don't granny it. Give it plenty of load (but not labouring) while keeping the revs sensible (<4000rpm) for about 500 miles. Then change the oil and you're pretty much good to go.
