buying a clio 1.8 16v

yes get one mate but be prepared to spend some money on parts when it goes wrong but when they go right they go like stink

just bought it your right it does go like stink quiet surpised don anyone know what bhp they are?

its been tuned slightly and modified slightly

So why are you asking complete strangers about your engine when you don't say what has been done to it?

Standard power from a 1.8 litre 16v engine like yours started out was about 137bhp, however one that's been driven for 14 years will inevitably not be as efficient as one out the factory

tuned slightly and modified slightly, you mean its got a cone filter and you've painted the strut brace yellow or what? are we supposed to guess :D

Going back to 15" wheels will increase acceleration. Loose a lot of weight from speakers. Loose the awful lights and sell them on and spend that money on elsewhere. Can tune the engines with cams, porting, or maybe f7r bottom end etc. but wont see a major improvement really (10-15bhp extra). So best way is to sort out handling and braking.
