brake regulator

Hi guys anyone ever had to bleed the the regulator on brake setup. we have bleed the brakes as normal to start but once car is started pedal goes back to floor so manual says to bleed the regulator/abs unit for which a diagnostic tool is required to do this. was wondering if anyone has any experience with this tool or had a similar problem?

martin.

I renewed the brakefluid at 150000km, I had the same problem, no brakes at start, but a few times pumping the pedal by hand, cause it floored like yours and it was back again, probably due to pushing back the callipers all in.

Probably nothing to do with fluid, but my new pads (front and rear) were replaced and they had to wind the rear callipers back.

the pads were really spongy for a few miles and has to be pushed all the way in to get contact.

It's def the regulator air has entered the abs unit and according to renault its near impossible to then bleed the brakes with out the diagnostic tool to activate the solenoids in the regulator manualy to get the air out. tears!!!!!
