Body Panels not listed anymore by Renault UK

Hi,
Someone reversed in to my Vee yesterday, have found out that Renault UK no longer list the body panels. Does anyone know of a UK supplier?

Nigel.

I' don't know of a UK supplier. Are they specific panels to the MK 2 only? if not you could ask Scott SG Motorsport if any of his MK 1 stock would do.

Are the part numbers still available from France?

Examples of rear panels: The large fibreglass panels: Fit MK 1 and MK 2

Items 1 & 2

60 20 014 167 O/S Wing outer panel £1,354.02
60 20 014 166 N/S Wing outer panel £1,354.02

Part numbers are on Renault UK system so should be available to order from France.

give stephen Dell (renaultalpine) a pm, he happens to be going to Dieppe tomorrow.

Hi,
Renault parts direct told me that they were no longer available from Renault UK.
I have sent a PM to Steve Dell asking him if the panels are still available from Dieppe.

Hi nigel, i did forsee this happening and got myself some spares "just in case", i do have both rear panels for a mk2, one new one second hand, and two new fronts. i would rather not sell these as they were for my own peace of mind, and now priceless,, but, if you were in the mire and were having to wait for one i would be happy to let you have one whilst one is delivered/made.
this is exactly the situation i spoke about on the dual mass flywheel thread, renault ought to wake up to this problem of parts supply, or do they just not care! "we have had your money" comes to mind.

Don't Renault have a legal obligation to supply parts for 10 years - or is this just service parts ? The Mk2 is not 10 years old and differs from the Mk1 of course ...

Also sorry to hear of your incident too Nigel :-(

I had thought of squirrelling away parts but figured if others are doing this then at least the knowledge and awareness of parts availability is in the public domain and perhaps subject to negotiation on cost - which is good. As far as accidents etc. go, if my car had a bump it would be upto the insurance company to deal with sourcing parts or write the car off unless it could be repaired below the excess value. Having spares would not be sensible for me as my attitude towards the car is that if it gets written off then so be it, if I want another I will buy one ... Insurance companies may not entertain fitment of owners spares so the advantage of having them may be more relevant to those who intend to or can carry out or organise repairs themselves ... I can see the benefits to some owners in having spares though, especially front wings - just not for me ...
