Refurb'in wheels is a bit hit or miss imo and i think i fcuked this one up!

Don't get me wrong i think the job is decent and the new centre caps and grafix look the bollocks, but i don't think the silver is bright enough!

Whats everyones opinions?

p.s - Cheers for the advice Mossy! Cutting down the caps was a total C**T of a job! I reckon it look me over 2hrs to get them all perfect and the stickers on...I don't think they'll be coming out in a hurry too as there bonded in!

Ali.

They look great, who did um?

I think the finish is nice as the car looks like you keep it mint wish I kept mine as nice.

they look the bizzo ali!! slightly darker is cool...how much did you pay and where did them...

i want mine more of a shadowed darker finish but not anthracite..how long did they have the wheels??

The color is perfect, did you bond the caps into the wheels, or just the sticker onto the caps.

To answer a few Q's.

Recoat in glasgow, been around for yrs! Old man used to use them when he ran Deutsch tune.

I've put loads of CS guys onto them and would recomment any of the boys in the west coast to see them. The job is 2nd to none...But getting the colour rite is a big hit or miss like i said.

140£ for me. 180 usually. 28hr turnaround.

Caps were a nitemare, cut down and filled down with the dremel and then bonded in...I don't think there going to come out!

Stickers from the italian mini company! Perfect angle and great quality.

Cheers for putting my mind at rest...think i'm bein fussy.

How are they going to balance the wheels next time you need tyres, if the caps dont come out. [smilie=hide.gif] The price even without your discount is great, were the wheels in good condition before they re did them then. Mine need re furbing, so i might get them done there when i do, its hard to find a good company that are highly recommended, ive seen wheels get ruined by bad companies, even fitting tyres on the wrong way round on the car.

From side on they do look missmatched, for 140notes and seen as they have been around for years hit or miss colour matching is kinda the priority thing for spray'ers....id not recommend them to any one if there hit or miss. ad ask them to be how i want them or get my money back....... its abit like buying a car...you want a red one but they give you a brown one ' well its kinda red'.....a wouldnt use them again.

Hummm...Don't know if i agree with that! They were powdercoated not sprayed, two completely different methods. just to clarify that. Plus he did say it would be close not perfect. And on my old 172 i preferred the new colour to the old so like i said it's hit or miss.

Not sure about the balancing issue, cross that bridge when i get to it...

the powder coat is positivly charged and SPRAYED from a gun onto a surface that is negative allowing less waste and better contact, it is then baked....ali your wheels are mismatched stop crying about it, just get the pods matched...end of.

Yeh i know they were sprayed with a powder gun!! I do know what powdercoating entails. I thought you were talkin about "Wet Paint sprayin!"

Canny be arsed sprayin the sidepods, doesn't bother me enough to warrant the money and then you have the issue of matching the " Wet paint!" to the wheels. Comprendez vous.

Cheers for the other comments.
