Clio Big Steve Raider’s - Clio 200 Raider

Yay, love your work Steve, on all the cars (y) but face covering and beanie..... What you going to be like when its actually cold!? I'm still in shorts :D

If you get a spare 5min could you put a tape measure on the old rad, wondering if it may be a suitable bigger rad for the twingo if it ever needs one

🤣🤣 I was actually pretty toasty all day outside with the balaclava AND Thermal beanie, but you forget I’ve not got a coating of body hair comparable with Chewbacca’s like you mate, so no surprise you’re still in shorts 🩳!! 😉

Sure can do mate, I can post the old one up to you if you need it? You just need core overall dimensions??

im built for winter :D

ooo yes maybe cheers (y) overall dimensions would be great, maybe between lower mounting points too if it stands on the Renault standard pegs? was just an idea for a bigger oem rad that may fit the hole. I have a 172 item in there currently but it "looks" small.

Back from holiday yesterday, straight out onto the Clio Raider today!!

Got nearly EVERYTHING back into the engine bay today:
  • Air conditioning compressor
  • Remaining air-con pipes
  • Inlet manifold
  • Engine Oil
  • Coolant
  • Air filter, and inlet pipework
  • Scuttle cover
  • Radiator air deflectors

Cars nearly complete again in the engine-bay area with just the front shocks, and steering hub knuckles to fit.

However not all plain sailing… 😭😭😭

Started the car when I had the fluids in, and found that the engine seems to be running on 3 cylinders… definitely coughing it’s guts up.. suspect something injector, coil pack, or wiring related… will whip the inlet off and have another look over.

Another good day on the car today, and quite a fair bit done!!!

@jas_racing suggested that the Injectors that I had refurbished could be “stuck” following their service, he’d suffered from the same issue. So the suggestion was to give them a little tap to loosen off? Not sure if that was the issue, as I also checked the coils but after I reassembled it all, she fired into life on all cylinders!! 👍👍👍

Now that it’s running ok, I fitted the new headlights I’d bought for it. The original headlights had got “burnt” from (I’m guessing) someone fitting some shady Xenon bulbs. I fitted some new uprated regular H1 and H7 bulbs

Once they were in, I started to re-assemble the Nearside Shock/Hub/Steering assembly.

Everything went back well, but there’s a few little bits & bobs I want to still change, so it’s a temporary fix for the mean time.

For the first time in 5 months, one of the front wheels is fitted back onto the car!!

Made some initial moves for the Nearside, but again I’m waiting for some small bits & pieces, so this is as far as I can get for the moment:

Chuffed to bits things continue to come back together in flippin Winter!

Thanks for reading 📖

Got the small bits & pieces today from Renault, I was waiting on, so got my arse into gear, wrapped up to f**k and got out there in the 2°C weather:
