Clio Big Steve Raider’s - Clio 200 Raider

Took the Clio Raider to Donnington Park today for a Javelin Trackday.

First time in be ever driven the car in-anger on the track and have to say I was thoroughly impressed with how it took a thrashing with no issues whatsoever!!!

Having always been a Turbo-boi up until recently, And have to say I loved the naturally aspirated car on the track, you had more time to be doing the driving than peddling the car thru the gears when you’re riding that turbo torque wave..

Already got a few more mods I’d like to do… watch this space!

Took the Clio Raider to Chris (Scoff) at EFI Parts today in Runcorn for him to have a look at how the car was performing, and see if he could do anything to calm down the kangarooing that the car is prone to.

Took along @Millie_Bee for the ride, and excitement… 😆😆

Chris strapped it down and ran it up on the rollers, and it pulled 186.4BHP.

After loads of tweaking, and several runs the power figure increased to 197.3BHP (EVERYTHING IS STOCK on this car don’t forget!!)

And he’d smoothed the AFR curve down no-end:

Car drives really nicely now, and you can definitely feel a little bit more of a ‘pep in its step’ 😉

Of course a little Chavlet in a SEAT Leon (what else) had a go at me on the way home, and he had a surprise when I applied myself… 😜

Would like to get the wheels refurbished next.

I love my clio 200, even though it’s 350bhp and the suspension is more or less oem apart from eibach springs it handles amazing. It could take a lot more and I’ll probably take it on track one day. Looks like you’ve done a good job with this anyway mate 👍🏼

I think if something happened to the N/A lump, it wouldn’t be long before a 250 turbo Engine appeared and turned this car into a super car slayer like yours!!

In preparation of a summer’s activity, I dropped the Clio Raider’s alloys off at City Wheel Refurbishment for a sort-out:

Which means whilst the wheels are away, some 19” Focus RS Wheels I had knocking around, have stood in for a week or two:

Been bugging me that the carpet in my Clio Raider is looking manky in all the places the vacuum nozzle can’t reach… so I got really stuck into it this weekend (on my Birthday 🥳)

Battery disconnected, and seats out:

Now you can see the detritus that had collected 🤢

So armed with some Carpet Cleaner, and some drill brushes:

I got stuck in:

And then vacuumed up the liquid with a hired carpet cleaner:

Leaving it looking LOADS better:

Whilst the seat was out, I also fitted a lowering subframe to the drivers seat:

Took the Clio Raider to my now favoured detailing guy near Cambridge (Optimum Detail) for him to apply ceramic coat the car, ready for our Euro Jolly coming up later this month.

Collected it today, and as usual it looked amazing:

He removed all the decontamination from the car with Clay (yes I didn’t realise you could Clay a Matt car either!!!??) Ceramic coated the car with Gyeon Q2 Matte ceramic coating:

I also got him to proper polish out the gloss contrasting parts on the roof, mirrors and bumpers, so the car really shines now:

Freshly powdercoated wheels were also ceramic coated.
