Hoping someone can advise. I understand phase 1 and 2 had the bendix re208/209 AEI unit. Anyone know what the bendix re226 unit was from and what the difference would be? Got this on my GTT and just cannot find out anything about it. TIA

Could this have been changed to advance the timing for a different cam or something? I'm trying to unpick this engine and can tell the carb's been modified and has a turbotechnics S117 Stage 2 (or at least that's what the label on the actuator says); but not idea what's been changed in the block.
Thanks. I’m going to have to hunt one down. Whilst thinking about it, we have a loud scraping noise from the starter motor on starting which we’ve just replaced but still noisy. Before we replace the flywheel, is there any possibility this noise could be due to this incorrect AEI causing differences to the timing and a mismatch between starter and flywheel? Prob a stupid question…
