bendix abs

just serviced my front brakes on my 16v chamade and bled the brakes now the abs pump is blowing fluid back up the reservoir every 20secs or so, you can hear it pumping, then it will like just fill the fluid reservoir right to the top then take it back down again and if the lids on it just blows it out the little pin hole in the cap, is this suppose to happen? ta

Is it supposed to blow the brake fluid out of the reservoir lid? What do you think? LOL!

Is there not a specific bleeding procedure for Bendix ABS? I seem to recall something or other in Haynes.

Youre not having a lot of luck with that car are you?!

lol its not that bad really, im just use to clio 16v's its surprising how different they actually are, I fitted a 722 engine and to get all the ancillary's on I had to make quiet a few mods to the block and head, then the abs is mad lol you can tell its old as fcuk, the car itself is actually coming along quiet nice it runs beautiful just need to sort bits and bobs out now.... also, will a phase two steering column fit a phase1? ta :)

what did you find different on a 722? I had one of those in mine for a while.

to fit the alternator bracket I had to file away at the block for a long time to get it to sit flush, the thermostat housing was completely different so had to mod most of the water pipes, some sensors and wires were different aswell so had to change them, different inlet manifolds, different cambelt covers too, only thing I didnt change was exhaust manifold

ah yeah all the ancillary mountings are different but you should have had to file anything off the actual block :?

ye there was a little bit sticking out near the water pump bolts to the head I think, and I had to file it down about half an inch.
do you know if a phase2 column will fit a phase1 mate?

yeah it will, exactly the same

cool, I checked the Haynes manual and it doesn't say how to bleed the bendix or the bosch abs system as not enough info was available at the time  if I cant bleed it do you know if/how I can easily remove the abs system?? ta
