Battery warranty

Usually I trickle charge the vee over winter but ive been using the charger for other bit & pieces. I went to start it up yesterday and it was totally flat! tried to charge the battery but it was having none of it. Then brain wave, how old was the battery in the car? obviously, like many here, I keep a file with everything Ive ever spent on the car. September 2012 was the last time it had a new one.. and a sticker on the battery '5 year guarantee' - result!! quick trip to Halfords and i now have a brand new battery with receipt of purchase date and another 5 year guarantee.

I normally frown at Halfords, but not this time.

I need to get the new tyres fitted, the new front discs & pads, then MOT it. Also the Mini Cooper is nearly finished so any day trips might be done in that this year.

I owned Renault alpine GTA for 17 yrs, bought new battery after few years with 3 or 5 yr warranty, I had about 4 free new batteries after that as they never lasted.
