Battery Randomly Dead

Hi All,

Went to start up the Clio this afternoon, and found that the battery is pretty much completely dead.

Last time I drove it was just over 2 weeks ago. I had a new battery fitted last May (so only 18 months ago, and it was a proper OEM one from RPD). There did not appear to be lights/radio left on (although I can't be 100% sure). There is tiny bit of charge in the battery (hence why I don't think it's a busted starter or sensor or something like that, but I might be wrong) as I can get the electrics to turn on (just), and I can lock the car with the fob (just!) but not enough to turn the starter.

Any ideas? Maybe a faulty battery?

Cheers,
Phil.

Think there's a sightglass on top of thr battery which will tell you if it's got any charge in it, other than that sounds like a job for a trickle charger or a replacement battery but even if you get a new battery stick a trickler on it if it's going to sit for a few weeks at a time.

I bought a ctek 3600 recently, good bit of kit!! (oh and a Bosch silver battery aswell)

Thanks Ian, I'll get the trickle charger on it tonight!

It's annoying because I left the Clio in storage for the whole winter, plus a bit more (about 4+ months), and it started first time with ease!

Oh well :violin:
