5 GT Turbo B18FT 1.7 TURBO into my Renault 5 GTX

The eBay link is just the out sills, that's the jacking point. It is extra thick from the factory but rots from the inside out. It's repairable but wing off, inner sill trim off, seat out and carpet peeled back and loom out the way.
It's worth going round the car to see what else needs doing. Front and rear bumper mounts, the other jacking point etc etc

Cheers fella,
I'll strip it back and take a look how bad it is.
If I'm not happy that it's safe enough for my daughter to get in it and not have it in the back of my head that I'm driving a a heap of sh*t then I'll get the work done. I'm not about to waste my time on something that won't ever get to the standard I want it to be. Cheers for your input.

It depends how far the corrosion goes back and had much decent metal there is to weld to. The outer sills are covered by side skirts so it doesn't need to be a perfect factory finish as they'll be covered.

The part that has actually corroded away on your car appears to be the jacking point, there's a chance that where it meets the inner sill and floor pan may have suffered too. Have a look at these areas so you know how far back its gone.

Like Brigsy says it can be plated. That will be cheaper than souring multiple repair panels.

Once it's stripped back I'm gonna get a mobile welder to weigh up the job if I'm undecided. It has to be safe. With my track record every vehicle I have owned has either blew up or been wrapped up and I really cba carrying that tradition on.

It's gotta be able to be repaired...
Realistically it's not load bearing until you come to jack up from it as it's on the sill. I take it I'm gonna have to speak to a decent welder who does this stuff all the time.
Yeah my 21 has the same issue, both jacking points are crumbling like the white cliffs of dover. You can get new ones i think,.

Update.
So I've had an hour spare and it's been driving me mad how bad this rust is.
So I ripped N/S seat out, and peeled back the carpet. Here is what I found...

Two square repair patches already welded.

Close up of both, tell me what you think.

Are these good repairs? I presume the black shit is to stop em rusting? They seem solid enough just slight surface rust.

Is this the inner sill...

This looks brand new if it's the inner sill.

Also last thing, N/S/R arch has been repaired also, what do people think?

I'll get the side skirt off soon n have a look at the sill/ jacking point closer I've not got a drill with me today so can't drill the rivets off. But a closer look sort of indicated it maybe just be the jacking point gone?

Hopefully.:ac:

Looks like someone cared enough about it to try some repairs - a good sign
Deffinately, I agree.
I ripped the other seat out and got the carpet fully out yesterday, no pics but the rest of the floor is shit hot no other patches to be found. So I need to take side trims off and rear arches then get on the blower to get the work priced up. I think from what I've learnt so far it's worth making the effort. I just hope the bank balance isn't gonna be destroyed to much...
