Megane Artic blue 225

If only i had got the r26 box fitted beforehand..also was braking early ish as on stock brake pads and totally cooked the fluid again !! I might upgrade the master cylinder to cup spec to be honest but generally for a road spec car it performs awesome on track. I was pulling away from the 265 fairly easy on the quick parts aswell. I wish i had hooked up my camera but was in a hurry so forgot. Next time;)

Diff + turbo FTW. The turbo changed the car for the better for me. So much smoother and easier to control.

I rated the DS2500 pads. I made a seal weep ( dont call the RSPCA , I mean brake seal on the rear piston on the caliper ) before I cooked any fluid with these.

The pads could do with an upgrade for a power track however they are not too bad considering braking from well over a ton at points. Must try better fluid though:D

Defo fluid boiling ? No chance the pads are just going off ?

I used Millers Ninja fluid ( or something along those lines ) and had no issues with my 2500

I would say its the fluid boiling. The pedal goes a bit spongy, its not the old wooden pedal issue that usually happens when the pads cant take any more.

I 100% cooked the fluid on track with OEM pads set up before the pads were an issue - I never got the pads smoking for example, but after a few laps the pedal would literally be right to the floor - the next day after the trackday you could tell the pedal was shot and full of air after it. The OEM fluid was very new (less than 12 months). The pads were totally fine when they came off I was told...

RBF600 at its price point is hard to beat (I'm talking about direct comparison in dry and wet boiling points vs other comparable products) - the RBF660 is like 15% more than the 600 boiling point wise, as OPIE had it on offer, I decided to punt for it this time :)

Glad you had a good time on track brigsy - I find with track pads and fluid only the £40k+++ build EVOs/Scoobies with sequential boxes can really outbrake a mk2 megane.

Exactly the same issue i had, rock solid pedal then after a few laps the pedal is down to the deck. Re bleed and fine again. Ill definitely give the RBF600 a whirl cheers lads ! Had this issue every trackday need a brake fluid change. The ate typ 200 must not be man enough for the job !

I did notice with stock pads i can get the abs/hazard lights flashing under hard braking so cant be all that bad :D no smoke out of the pads yet..to be fair im not the heaviest on the brakes. I tend to use the b pedal as little as possible :D

I reiterate especially if you're easy on the brakes is that the Motul coupled with the DS3000 pad will do precisely that. They come into their own, they're on point very quickly and work so well. They're worth the extra in monetary terms, skip going DS2500 as again IMO you'll only shell out again for the 3000s after.

Do you mean the 1.11's Ricardo not the 3000s?

I think the 3000s need to have temp put into them to work, and are mega abrasive on disks - they're the ones that spark under hard breaking?

I was just about to ask the same question lol as ds3000 is a race pad and i expect they are like blocks of wood from cold. Do they chuck shards of metal everywhere like the ds2500??
