Updates.
225 has barely moved for last few years sadly. Its been for mot every year and i done a big service on it in 2023 changing oil, filter, gear oil, brake fluid etc with plans to use it, but done around 100ish miles
Sitting around not doing any favours sadly and when took for mot last year it was not running as good as it should and misfiring a bit when boost built. Extremely old fuel was not helping, i stuck some fresh fuel in but just added to the issue as its sat since last october with a half a tank of basically crap fuel with newest being 9 month old.
As long term sitting around is not doing it any favours, but not to the point of needing loads of work i had made a promise to get the little niggles sorted, serviced and back on the road. It had been turfed out the garage temporarily whilst the trophy was being worked on and given a clean up.
Cleaned up and needing small jobs doing.
The drivers side front tyre kept losing air and needed resealing on the bead. As off work whipped wheel off and took it in the extra to get sorted whilst disposing of other accumulated rubbish (70ltrs of waste oil

)
Speedline turini amongst fuck loads of used oil
My mate popped the bead off the tyre to reseal. This highlighted the pilotsport 4 that were fitted had gone hard as fcuk with age (2018 datestamp) and were well past their best even though loads of tread.
Michelin usually easy to get off but yeah its just folded.
With it being quiet and early afternoon, the decision was made to fit a new set of michelin ps5 on all corners. My mate ordered a new set in from the warehouse and fitted one to the wheel, said go home and tax the car and bring it over and can fit the rest and use lift to service it whilst there. Sounded like a good idea to me and a bit of a push to get it sorted after limited use for last few years.
New PS5

Went home and fitted the wheel and taxed. This was a bit risky as half a tank of 1- 2 year old mixed fuel in and apart from a quick start up to move out of the garage its not been driven since last mot. It starts and runs fine, but on last run out to mot station it was misfiring its tits off on boost which had not been looked at. Risk it as servicing anyway keeping it off boost.
Had all the service items in stock so filled the Extra with essential bits and set off. Shez was following me and 3 miles from the house on the dual carriageway she's flashing me to stop. Pull in a layby and she says its misfiring like fcuk as soon as a little bit of boost builds. We swap vehicles and i drive it off boost for the next 6 miles to the garage and it clears its throat after 70mph cruising - i assumed the plugs were fouled a little from short runs.
Straight in the tyre bay. Other 3 wheels off
Dropped oil out whilst hot and noted the oil is super clean as it had only done around 100 miles since changing, but absolutely stinks of fuel. I rarely start the cars up without driving but this has had a bit of time idling/moving in and out of the garage over last couple of years so needed changing badly.
If you have a car in long term storage then dont run it up to temp unless driving as not good.
Action shot changing oil.
Filled up with Valvoline synthpower 5/40 and purflux filter.
With that done i moved onto the spark plugs. I changed the plugs in this when we first got it, 13 years ago!! The car had 46k on the clock, and it is now on 70,700. Thats loads of trackdays, mapped for all of that time.
As soon as i took number 4 out i noted that you could walk through the plug gap and you could see where the base was fouled.
Cyl 4,3,2,1.
As you can see they were totally finished. I stuck a set of Ngk Bcr8es that i run in all of my meg engines gapped to 0.6mm.
Done.
A rare pic of the Extra and 225 out away from home.
Its running great with new plugs in and new ps5 are loads better than the ps4 which were quite noisy on the way to the garage.
