APEC REAR DISCS - POSSIBLE GROUP BUY?

James,

Do you think you could send round a message to all members/owners to check if they'd want a set of rears? If we give apec a substantial definite first order they may hurry along a bit more.

Cheers

Matt

I don't mind starting a group buy thread if that's easier Matt? Will do it now - James - Feel free to delete if you feel the message will be easier.

Cheers both,

Matt.

Edit - I don't have permissions to start a new group buy thread :(

Hi all, I know it's frustrating, I know I am frustrated, I've ended up getting my rear discs skimmed, but I've been in regular touch with APEC and short of really p@ssing them off, we need to be patient. There is a big backlog of discs to be developed and Matt at APEC did warn me it could be 6 months.

I will get in touch with him again this week, I'm abroad at the mo but I'll feed back shortly.

thanks for your patience all

rgrds
Dan

Ok n00b-b0y here. Just added my name to the group buy list. But looking at the begining of the thread and the link to www.livingstonautoparts.co.uk. Slapped in my reg and found the APEC disks. £29.26 + VAT Front (each) and £51.31 + VAT Rear (each) - both "available within 24hrs". Concerned that the fronts are listed as 310x28 rathr than 300x28. They should be 300's right? The rears are 330x30.

Dumb question - so why the group buy? Is the "available within 24hrs" and pile of poop and it should read "available within 6 months"?

The front are 330mm fella. They have just started to produce the fronts but not at that price. The rears are currently being looked at in terms of production and all that is concerned. Once they have, its problem solved as fas properly priced disks are.

there's huge confusion over the fronts and no-one seems to
know why 2 different disc sizes are made by APEC, I even questioned them myself over this and was told they had sold many sets of both sized discs 310 and 330mm

If any motor factors are quoting rears as in production it's rubbish. if you want a reliable listing of what's available :

Please remember to point out to APEC that the rears should be curved vame if possible to be a direct OEM replacement.

just running an eye over this post and came across this comment, my question is just WHY? if you use a curved vane they will have to make two different discs as they would be sided to allow the vanes to rotate the same way, are the std discs sided? cos i dont think so. whats this all about? me being thick an all.

I seem to recall that the front discs ( I bought from RPD, genuine Renualt) are straight vane. I know this is for rears, but I cant see why its so important.

Spike, good point.
