APEC REAR DISCS - POSSIBLE GROUP BUY?

I'm going to replace all 4 discs and pads...

.....it will be like having brand new brakes all round! :)

LMAO . . . . Thats because you will have new brakes alround! ;)

Colins right though, its about time people stop shafting people for these disks. :approve:

£57 for the front discs from livingstone Auto parts

Can someone post a pic up of their front discs fitted?

I maybe wrong but i think it says £57 per disc, not a pair

Yes I meant £57 for each one! That's still very cheap IMHO!

Pmsl at the brand new brakes thing, once I read it back it sounded stupid!

My original front oem discs are warped and I might wait until winter to fit these new Apec's. But either way, if i do them soon, i'll post some photos of them fitted.

Should maybe start some kind of proper list dan... Could we extend the group buy to people who want fronts or all 4?

as i have said before the apec discs are top quality and well recommended but as for a group buy, whats the point? a far better answer to this would be to find the cheapest supplier then direct everyone to this supplier. obviously this would be regional.
my reasons for this suggestion are simple: if you do a group buy how are you going do deliver the discs to the buyer for zero cost?? these discs are very heavy and i recon at least £15 to post a pair of these without the packing, this is just ridiculous on a forty quid disc.
nottingham area, priced to myself was £41+ vat from allwoods, i would be happy to get these for anyone in my area.

therefore the more of us that make a request for them, the more likely it is that they will be developed and put into production.

The above quote is the reason why i have shown my interest - just wanted to get the ball rolling on the development of the rears also ;)

Spike, the reason for a group buy suggestion was simply to get the rears into production, as you know yourself, the fronts are already in production, the rears are not, and after speaking to Apec myself, they said they are unlikely to be for some time. The reason for this thread was to gauge interest from other people who want some sensibly priced, good quality rear discs. I think we've established that Apec are a reputable manufacturer who supply many OEM Discs already.

Its also worth noting that I am personally not in this to make any money. If I were to go down the group buy route it would simply be to get enough people behind me to make the production of the rear discs feasible.

Ive also not suggested in previous posts that postage would be free, I think everyone would appreciate, even if they were buyng from a Motor factors anywhere in the uk that postage would be above and beyond the cost of the discs themselves.

If I can go to Apec and ask them to make 30 sets as an example, then it may well encourage Apec to put them into production sooner rather than later.

All sounds good to me.. I'd be up for a set of these too please. I'm in no rush, but if it helps get the ball rolling, count me in!

you got the wrong end of the stick. i do agree that if you can convince apec to make these its a good idea, they are very helpfull and i have spoke to Matt in the development dept a few times. what i am saying is hopefully convince apec to make these as you can direct xxx number of buyers their way, i was involved in the episode with the fronts and found it was cheaper to buy from a local factor rather than apec themselves, even after having personal contact with apec. this due to the motor factors buying power, also logistically the discs are then in your local area with NO post! a group buy by a single member will mean a central delivery point, then that person will have to mail them all out, not for me i'm afraid.
i would be happy to buy a pair of rears when they are made so put me on the list.

Totally agree Spike, it would be better if the discs went direct to suppliers, and we all bought from them, but thats relying on Apec and the time could be months even years before it happens. Its not an ideal scenario staging a group buy, but if I can go to Apec with a large order, this would obviously make the production process much faster. All this is hypothetical obviously!
