Anyone ordered anything from MC Racing in France?

Well after a 7 week wait my broken bodykit finally arrived.5 out of the 7 pieces were broken. The individual pieces of the kit were all just placed together(not individually wrapped) and then wrapped in one piece of cardboard! The end of the cardboard was completely open! The rear arches are crescent shaped?Am i supposed to roll my rear arches into a crescent shape too??My arches are obviously straight at the part directly above the wheel.Very disappointing experience all round owning this car so far.My love for the car has just died out due to people promising me things on this forum then not giving me a price,or even a postage price etc to get the parts, and now this.

Hi Robbocop,

Sorry to hear of your experience and that you are disheartened.

If I were you I would make an official complaint to MC Racing, with photos, etc.

If there are any parts you need, I have many used parts in stock - let me know (Private Message) and I'll see if I can help.

Thanks,

Andrew

Which kit did you order from them?

Hi Robbocop,

That link doesn't work. Do you mean at the bottom of this page?

Now, by all accounts, that wheelarch looks crescent shaped as you said. It will require modification to the rear arches. Many of the kits will - incl. the Calberson, etc.

I don't have any experience of fitting bodykits, but I do understand how an R5 goes together!

You can see from the photo that the arch cover extends up into the rear quarter panel much higher than on a standard car. I would think you'll need to mark out the panel with the arch tacked in place, and then cut (somehow) and rejoin the metal. Don't ask me how to do it "properly" and not be a bodge!

When you've done that, you should be able to fit wider wheels, but make sure they're wider only in the outer dimension, 'cause if they're wider towards the middle of the car they'll rub on the arches that side. You may have to modify the inner wheel house anyway.

I don't know the specs for maximum permitted offsets, etc. can anyone else advise?

Good luck with the project.

Andrew
