I originally came here looking for a R21 Turbo, but I got a little distracted when I wandered into a local car dealers where I spotted a Megane 225 on an 04 plate. Looked like it needed some work.
It was well overpriced at 4k so I laughed to myself and wandered off. The salesman caught me on the way out and we got talking. He it seemed had, had enough of the motortrade and was off to pastures new and was basically having a fire sale to clear the stock, and said we could 'have a deal' if we liked. The Megane had given him trouble and had conked out ages ago and was pushed to the back of the lot and forgotten about.
In the end due to the work involved to get it working I got it for a £1000. I have done the following.
New discs and pads all round.
New key card coded in.
Fixed the handbrake.
Replaced the fuse board with a second hand one and tidied the wiring and cleaned all the battery contacts.
New tyres all round.
New fuel pump sender.
New drivers door hinge to stop the annoying snapping sound.
Couple of bits of trim.
Reset everything.
New Battery.
New wipers.
Fitted some new number plates.
Next week I'm going to do the cambelt and all the fluids, filters and plugs.
Passed the MOT easily.
It has actually made a really good car.
The only job I have to do is decode the radio. Unfortunately I don't have an android device to download the code generator with or a PC for the windows version. So if anybody can help with the code the last three digits are E733.
