Am I mad?

the V6 will increase in value and they are fantastic cars, but if you fancy something else ,go for it, your certain to get a good price for yours which is a great position to be in,
even if you put it in storage for "the future" your still going to have to sell it at some stage to cash in on your investment,
I've just changed cars and can't stop laughing, and although it will loose money daily (unlike the Clio V6) I just wanted a change,
if I had loads of money and a double garage I would have kept mine , but unfortunately I don't,
My clio was not the best car I've owned, but It's by far my favourite by a long way,

From the replies you're writing, it sounds like you've sort of already made your mind up to sell and are looking for reasons to hold onto it.

One thing I will say is absence doesn't always make the heart grow fonder, especially when you consider the money tied up just sitting there not being used/enjoyed.

You only ever hear from the people that have regretted selling. The are loads of ex-owners out there that no-one hears from because they've not looked back! Tough one.

BAN HIM!! BLASPHEMOUS HERESAY!!

Although I see your point as I havent seen you for a few weeks post-wedding and I cant say I miss your friendship ;) Not one bit

Seriously no point in keeping it if you have no attachment to it or are not going to enjoy owning it (some enjoy them and don't even drive them, others enjoy because they drive them). You may as well let someone else enjoy the vee ownership experience. But if you sell it you cant have any regrets otherwise there was no point it selling it in the first place. If you are happy to see someone else drive off with it then it's an easy sell. Only you know how you would feel if it disappeared off into the distance.

Thanks for the replies folks.

Floated the idea with a good friend and he just said enjoy doing the commute (which I do to be fair, standing out from the euro boxes) and then take the opportunities when they arise.

Think a part of it is that I used to have at least a day a month where I'd have a 'car geek' day and go for a drive or show etc. It's probably more about the fact I've lost the time rather than the car. I've wanted one ever since I first saw one all those years ago and it does make me smile every day.

Good point actually. I've been gutted whever I've seen my previous cars drive off with their new owners - especially as that's been the only time I've seen them on the move from the outside - but you move on and start the whole experience again with the next car. Women are similar. lol

Some very good, and valid, points of view, but I think you did the right thing in deciding to keep the Vee.............

Enjoy it whenever you can would be my advice. I wish I had more time to enjoy mine, but must say this summer has been fantastic, quite unlike 2012.

Looks like it might have to go at the minute with my job and house(s) situation. New job means I'll need a boot to carry footballs around, and my other house has had an offer which is just about acceptable if the Vee goes. Just seeing how it's gonna play out over the next few days :(

Short term pain for long term gain though
