Alpine Alpine A310

I fix the above issues at a later point, I need to get some bodywork done before winter time.

This car need at lot of bodywork, so I need to break it down in smaller sektions so I don't miss anything.
I'm saning it down as much as possible, to the gel coat where I can.

The guys who fitted the arches didn't do a very good job, all the lines that supposed to be straight are curved :( I don't think it matters so much, I did'nt notice it before now anyway.

Here's some scars after removing the "side boards",

Fiberglass filler applied for the most, and a "skim" of ordinary polyester filler. I had a lot of problems getting the body line straight, but got there eventually..

The car looks so cool without front bumper, so it gets "deleted"

Looks so much better with just the arches and no skirts, what colour are you doing it?
I have not regretted taking them off!

I'm not 100% decided yet, the family wants it red.. I think it derserves something more spectacular, but still something I will look at in 10 years and not think it looks so 2024..
My first thought was actually the Renault Sport Sirius yellow, until a friend asked me what interior color I would choose for that, black is out of the question!

Right now it's narrowed down to green or white. Both goes well with a brandy interior. But I also take suggestions.

White, because I saw one almost exactly like mine in the Austrian alps driving towards me. It just looked so right!
Green, because I love green, and the Gottis will look amazing with gold center and polished lips. It could be a herritage Alpine green, or something cooler!

Holden Poison Ivy 746S is on the list.

And also this green I think its called 6n7

I'm also going to paint this one myself, and my skills may also be a deciding factor.

Modern shade of pearl white with metallic black bumpers......only cos that's what had in mind for the one that got away, I found a picture of a German one same, and liked it, some big Gotti splits on it, always a gamble if you go too far from original colours, but I've always got resale value in my head.
They did earlier three stud cars in some wacky seventies shades, but you only see later cars in primary colours or rally inspired liveries, odd restrained metallic perhaps.
What's the plan for lower grille if you're deleting the bumper?

@andybond,
Yes I also believe it will!

@Turbell,
Pearl white was also an option when these things were new, maybe it's a better choise than the solid white I had in mind.
I'm not worried about the originality tbh. I've seen worse :)

Simon Auto sell the grills to fit the hole :)

@YamYamRob,
I'm not sure blue is a good color for my A310, I'm just not "feeling" it.

This is the colors avaliable for the new A110 including all the herritage colors.

Blue ain't doing it for me, my GTA was manky yellowy pearl white, I used a later shade that was much, much whiter with a blue tinted pearl, looked a bit boring in low light, but popped in the sun.
If was doing it again I'd use a Lexus pearl white, more metallic than older pearl whites.
That big rear quarter on A310s is the issue for me regarding colour, it's a big area high up on a car looking at it profiles ways, it'll catch light at a different angle to the doors.
Great project, you're doing a great job.

Nice thread! Do you have any pictures/ "How-to", when you lifted of the body from the frame?
Recenltly bought an Alpine A310 in Norway, and it seems I have to deal with som rust-issues in the frame :)
