When I was bedding in my pads I did the usual process and in turn its left a lot of hot pad material showing as white tiny speckles on my gloss black wheels.
Clay bar and patience? Ferodo ds2500 ruined the finish on my old turbines the same way at rockingham a few years ago. Molten metal embedded into the powdercoat. Rust spots up the doors too lol
I use this stuff. http://www.bilthamber.com/auto-wheel-1
Spray it on, leave it, wheel turns a really funky red colour as it works. Then I hose off. Once all traces of the stuff have gone, I wash the wheels as normal with my car shampoo etc.
Every so often I will also seal the wheels using "poor mans wheel sealer". Its a lovely pink colour & smells nice too (not that it matters lol). I give them 2 or 3 coats of that and it seems to help protect them against all the brake dust etc. whilst making them easier to clean next time.
