Alignment

Noticed to day when the wheels where off my tyres have a bold ring all the way around them with cords showing in places
Its pissed me right off as the tyres are nearly brand new.

I had Laser alignment not that long ago they obviously didnt do it correct,

Wot does this means wrong, the "TOE" or "CAMBER"

Heres the sheet of data i got back after it was done. Can some one tell me if these are right or wrong?
And if they are right why my tyres on the back have a bold ring all the way round the inside.

Cheers

I had the same problem on my rears (down to the cord on the inside of both rear tyres) however my handling was also terrible, found out it was due to the Renualt garage taking off my back end to fit a new clutch and flywheel and not setting the alignment up afterwards.
They took it to a honda dealer? to sort it out, and handling was transformed and so was the wear rate......feels great now :)

Not sure what the figures where before or after, just knew it felt bad.

I might take mine back to renault and try and blame the alignment on when they replaced my gear box.

Got nothing to lose.

Its just a pain tho.

I have the KW suspension. What is the diff betweent he KW shocks and the standard shocks that make the camber not adjustable

John, did you get these of Renault? I'm going to give them to the chimps to set on Monday – just want to be sure.

I'm a bit confused by this. John's figures:

FRONT
Front Caster - +6degrees plus or Minus 30 minutes

Front Camber - Minus 45 minutes plus or minus 30 minutes

Pivot? - 13 degrees Plus or Minus 30 minutes
The above cannot be adjusted

Front Toe - minus 30 minutes Plus or Minus 15 minutes

REAR
Rear Camber - Minus 1 degree 30 minutes Plus or Minus 20 minutes
The above cannot be adjusted

Rear Toe - Plus 45 minutes Plus or Minus 15 minutes.

For Toe adjustment 1 turn = 1 degree. (6mm)

Peter's figures:
Front -15min(L), -15min(R)
Rear +20min(L), +21min(R) – and why are these two different?

What should I be using?

FRONT
Front Caster - +6degrees plus or Minus 30 minutes
Front Camber - Minus 45 minutes plus or minus 30 minutes
Pivot? - 13 degrees Plus or Minus 30 minutes
The above cannot be adjusted

Just set : Front Toe - minus 30 minutes (Plus or Minus 15 minutes)

REAR
Rear Camber - Minus 1 degree 30 minutes Plus or Minus 20 minutes
The above cannot be adjusted

Just set : Rear Toe - Plus 45 minutes (Plus or Minus 15 minutes.)

My figures:
Front -15min(L), -15min(R) (15+15=30 spot on)
Rear +20min(L), +21min(R) (20+21=41 near enough) Different cos they couldn't get them exactly right. Lack of adjustment. But TBH it a road car and 1 minute is 1/60 of a degree. Not a lot! Before they were all to cock!

Peter :D

It would seem that the Mk 2 has slots that will allow camber adjustment.

note placed here so it does not get lost.
