Air bag fault

Hello all
Out came the Clio from its winter slumber and I’m getting the air bag light and service light flashing on intermittently. I’ve been on YouTube and it seems a common issue with the connectors under the seat.
Is there anything else I should’ve looking for?

I had the same fault with my ph1 vee!
Was just the connection under the seat played up..

Unless the light was on permanent I would of said could be the dash air bags!

I've never had to look beyond the seat connectors and steering wheel connector for a Clio airbag light.

I had a fiddle with all connectors under the seats plus on the steering wheel but it didn’t do anything. My OBD reader stopped working so as soon as the new one arrives I should be able to pinpoint the issue

Ideally you need to use Renault Clip - available on ebay to diagnose which airbag is causing this. Have you removed the steering wheel at any stage as that could also be causing it. Its likely as you say to be the underseat connectors. One connector goes to the seat belt pretensioner and the other is the airbag and seat microswitch. when you do find which one it is use some fabric tape to wrap around the connector once fixed to stop vibrations causing it to happen again.

Just to give an update, turned out to be the wire loom in the steering wheel that was the issue, quite common apparently. Ironically I had exactly the same issue in an old megane I used have so guessing a very common Renault issue.

Great fun having it out of the garage and on the road again.
Initially i viewed the car as something to have for 4-5 years, don't loose any money then chop it in for something like an R8 or maybe a Vantage but after a year of owning it now im not sure of what else can top it for the money. Everything that peaks my interest ie BMW 1M recently as a possible future contender as a replacement doesn't quite seem to match up. It still make me laugh how many people go out of there way to come up and talk about the car.
