Acid yellow for sale £20,000

Just to clarify, I have no issue with the colour, and would never treat colour as a priority over the car's condition and maintenance history, which would be my top priority. As such, I would wish to know what exactly has been done, how often and would need to see proof of the work carried out.

For the reasons noted above I would not pay £19K for this particular example. If I were to buy it then the first thing I would do is to get a full mechanical checkover, replace all fluids, filters and plugs, and of course attend to the cam/aux belt and water pump.

Having said that I hope a club member buys this one so that it can be looked after and cherished as it should be..........

I would if I wanted a particular colour and knew that it would be a long time before another comes along, and even if it does whos to say it will be cheaper!

Its not an outrageous price, reading the comments it looks to be 1k over priced (or correctly priced with a cambelt change).

I would not loose out on it for 1k if thats what I wanted.

I looked at it the other way.............however much I wanted the colour.

I've picked up a Titanium with less than 9K on the clock, 7 Renault service stamps & documented cambelt change and saved myself thousands to boot.

I've bought Cromo's, Orbisond & KW's and still have money in my pocket for more upgrades.

I'm aware this wouldn't be everyones cup of tea - but I'm more than happy ;)

Totally agree Hoogi,

I was refering to someone who HAD to have a particular colour, if you had to sell one previously and sentimental reasons to get hold of another one, it would be a no brainer for me.

P.s. KW's as well! all your missing now is some nice Recaro's ;)

Well done ClioSpyder. The obsession with colour with these cars is pretty mental...

Acid really does look awful on that advert. But let's face it, if Renault built a car that had a paint finish resembling a bleeding arsehole and it sold 3 worldwide it'd be going for 23k right now.

And the worst thing? I'd be one of the suckers that wanted to buy it. Sad bastard.

Interesting topic. I dont want to offend anyone buy saying the I.D colours are not special, because i do infact like some of them alot! however as is often the case, if the colour was that good then most people ordering a brand new clio v6 (which at the time was incredibly special) would have paid the extra for a great colour. It usually ends up that the colours which WERE NOT popular at the time of buying turn out to the most expensive in years to come. Like the example above, three of one colour were probably only sold because the colour was the least appealing in the first place.

As i said above, its not to take the lime light away from those with rare colours, just it seems the least favourable become the most favourable. Madness in some respects lol.

Incarcerate that man! Only kidding... ; )

I think the obstruction was price. Even today, I think most consumers would baulk at £1200 (or whatever it was).

Additionally, I don't think it helped the sales figures by having such nice standard colours.

Damn auto correct! I can spell really ;) ha.

To a certain extent i do agree, however the vee is a special car, and i personally would spend the extra buying a limited edition car... If the paint was decent that is.

Personally i would love a LY or Mars :)

Exactly. Colour does matter or we would wear orange suits, neon shoes etc etc or live in pink houses. If you want it then I say get it. Its the same on ebay dont even try and compete with me I will win any item I bid on if I want it. You cant live your life with regrets. Compare vee prices to new modern cars. The new diesel clio specced up costs 16k+. 19K isnt much more for a car with the rareity of the vee nowadays. Again its supply (one acid yellow on sale) and demand (desire of a buyer to have a specific colour).

Hmm all this talk about cambelts! dont know why you are all so scared!

Mines still on its original belt! I think Renault were a bit over kill with the 5 year/40k change interval!

The same engine in a Peugeot 406 the belt change is 7 years or 72k, the new engines in the 407 v6 have a change interval if 160k 0r 10 years!! My mate had a 407 v6 (on lpg) as a taxi and bottled out and had the belt change at 110k and the belt still looked good!

and before you ask yes its the same belt and the same part number as the clio one! coil packs are cheaper from Peugeot too!

lack of cambelt change doesnt mean anything to the engine, its only a problem if it breaks, its not like missing an oil change or something.

mine still has the oil changed every year regardless of how many miles its done, one year it did 5 miles! just to the mot station and then back the next year.

anyway the colour, Acid was not my first choice but when I saw one in the flesh I just had to have it, then afterwards found out how rare it was!

Everyones different, so you either like it or hate it, bit like Lunar, sorry Shuan!

I cant believe how cheap the vees are in this country, or how stupid some people are in not keeping the prices high, but it happens with all sorts of other cars on other forums where other owners cut each others throats over prices.

I say £20k is a bargain, that price would never buy mine, though mines only done 12k miles! though mines not going to be for sale anytime soon, so if you really want an Acid as a colour then get it bought as they wont come up often and not many left!

oh and it was a £1900 option to have a id colour, I have an original brochure and price list with mine.

Well said :approve:

It's a great car.............just seems like no one has the money at the moment as I would have thought this would have been sold a while ago !?!

i have got the money but he wont move on the price £19500 is all he will go to . if he moved a bit more so i could get the work done i would probably buy it . not a massive lover of the colour but i like it because it is rare .

If you are that close with the money..............I would try and find the extra to buy as it's a fantastic car.

I've tried to buy along with a few other Guys on here - the only reason I didn't was I'd just bought another house at the very same time this appeared so my budget topped out at £19K and all my other cash had to go towards the deposit.

Just look at the interest this topic has generated, we've on page 4 already...............I don't think you'll regret buying.

Wait for peoples reactions when you roll up in an Acid Yellow V6 - for me positive or negative, it's all good with that colour :)

Best of Luck.

PS - If you buy it's     from me.

I know if I had the full ammount here (unfortunatly I don't), I wouldn't let 5% of the original asking price dictate whether or not I'd loose the opportunity to own it. Looks to me that the car clearly has plenty of interest just on here alone. Sooner or later someone will pop up with the extra 500 quid or so I'm sure.
