Acid yellow for sale £20,000

One owner, late registered, garaged all it's life - it should be in excellent underbody condition with no corrosion ... That would be my indicator of a sound car to invest in and pay a premium for - not to mention the colour, which is truly stunning in the sun and bright weather :approve:

Yes a cambelt change would be ideal and it needs a little work so it will really appeal to someone who really wants this colour or the one owner garaged condition ...

Chris go and buy it mate. You may regret not buying it in a few years, you might actually never get another chance to own a AY..

i sent this message to the owner of the ay v6 on ebay a couple of days ago [ hi can i view the car some time this week with a view to take it the same day ] this is what i have just got back . [ thanks for the interest but i am keeping it now ] [smilie=icon_aaargh.gif]

My instinct told me this already, if it was really for sale it would have gone by now...

Something I posted earlier:

"I've followed the conversations regarding the AY since its first ad, it seems a number of people have approached him, this time and the last.

Reports back indicate he is a tricky guy, or perhaps stuborn, maybe he doesn't really want to sell, either way If he wanted rid wouldn't have behaved as he has.

Someone joked he had a hidden agenda... putting it up for sale to appease the wife etc...!"

A time wasting seller then. Marvellous.

I'd say he was testing the waters. Wouldn't be surprised to see it back up for sale in the summer for £23k...

Maybe putting it up for sale to test the water and generate some chatter would be one view ... Also IIRC when a similar AY car came up the seller was wary of buyers due to concerns about security and time-wasters and so appeared to come across as a bit 'short' and evasive with people but believe it got sold in the end to someone who perservered.

...last time, after the seller took it off eBay, he sent an eBay message/email offering it for £19K. Didn't want to take it up for £19K since I wasn't really looking to buy one, and certainly wouldn't have bought it without the opportunity of a test drive etc.

As others have said we may well see it listed again in Spring with a price of £21K+

HI all,

Nutty again...

Been off radar with some horrid A&E shifts...

So thought I would hi-jack this thread to say my lovely BG #212 with warranty is ready for a summer of fun for one lucky person.... just havent found them yet....

Its been 4 weeks now (albeit january with snow about) with some but no serious interest.

Its sat in its garage all sad and lonely without a visit.

Talk to me people....

That's some Spamming... :)

He isn't a timewaster in my opinion. He put it up for £20,000 and nobody offered him that. Am I wrong?? He's clearly thought "fuck it, I'll keep it until I need shot of it sometime". The whole "is it worth this" "is it worth that" is crap. As Carl has pointed out, you aren't going to get one soon, let alone cheaper. If Carl won't shift his AY for any less than 20 odd grand and neither will this bloke, where/when are you likely to have a chance to get another with lowish miles? God help us if a lunar ever comes up for sale.

Ive watched two 'ideal' caterham's come and go in this time ....

what with a rather more healthy/regular turnover for the 'hams' on PH its a touch frustrating... while the V is costing me nothing in real-terms sitting in the garage, its beginning to niggle away.

Drove her recently at 11pm after a shift - dry grit free roads, went for a 15 minute cruise to warm up the fluids/ run the engine type jaunt, ended up a 1 hour excursion.

Brett, he didn't really waste anyone's time, just a couple of phone calls/ emails that's it.

He was never selling the car, he wasn't even going to take 20k, there is another agenda for posting the car for sale.

People are right to discuss the car, if he had intended to sell it would have gone during the previous sale period for 19-20k.

If you genuinely believe he's not messing about (he can if he wants, as long as people aren't crossing continents to view it) then why did he not accept his asking price?

ive got my boxing gloves ready just in case a lunar does come up . i dont think he really wanted to sell the car to be honest . like some one said before maybe he was just keeping the wife happy . we all have to at some point i guess .
