2005 RENAULT CLIO RENAULT SPORT V6 255 ACID YELLOW (one owner)

I purchased my V6 Clio new, July 1st 2005 and have the original invoice and sales brochure.

It has been garaged since new and hardly ever used during the winter months.

The mileage of 23616 has been all long journeys as I have never used the car for commuting to work.

The interior is in excellent condition, (I am a non-smoker) and the car still drives like new.

I have all old MOT’s, tax discs, the service history and receipts for the coils and battery that have been replaced.

The front nearside wheel has minor curb marks and the paint has a few chips on the front spoiler area.

Apart from this the car is in excellent condition.

No track day use.

It is completely standard apart from the Renault factory option of acid yellow illusion paint.

The car has MOT to July but is not in use and is on a SORN so cannot be road tested.

Please note the cam belt has not been changed.

No thank you to part exchanges

Please email with any questions

"The car has MOT to July but is not in use and is on a SORN so cannot be road tested."

Good selling tactic for nearly a 20k car....

...And still the buyer has to get the cam/aux belt, water pump and a major service done (change all fluids).

Just before Xmas I offered him £19K cash and he turned me down.............that's with me knowing it needed the Cam-Belt/Water-Pump etc.

Thinking about it, so glad he turned me down as it's just too much, regardless how rare the colour.

If someone buys then the very best of luck to them as it's a great looking car.

Nice looking car , but no interior photos ,and 20k , id buy a mint ph1 and spend the other 10k somewhere else like paying off the mortgage

I want this so much it hurts!!!!

Head vs heart...

I think for £20k - I'd want at least 3 of the following: perfect wheels , 99% perfect paint, 2yrs+ on the cambelt and sub 20k miles.

I'm amazed that this chap didn't shake on '£19k', but I guess he might yet rue that decision...

My thoughts exacly. I too was offered this car, then he called and said it wasn't for sale, and after it was taken off eBay first time around, he dropped me an email saying that he had decided to sell the car after all, but I wasn't going to pay £19K for a Vee still on its original cam belt and no opportunity to see the car running/being driven.

As such, I am surprised that he relisted it without at least having the cam belt done. With the lack of attention to detail one needs to take into account the car's mechanical health and how it has been maintained over the years, especially since one cannot see/hear/feel it running properly when viewing it. However, if there were a folder full of receipts covering all its maintenance then it would be a different story, but, given that the cam belt has not been replaced in 8 years one wonders how the other maintenance schedules have been adhered to.

When I purchased #314, even though it was SORN'ed and had no MOT, Andrew still took me out for a test drive so I knew the car ran and behaved as one would expect a new one should.

I was told I could have it for 19k but declined due to cambelt etc.
I have emailed him with my original offer & will take it from there.
As stated above I would not pay 20k unless it was A1 with sub 10k miles.

No disrespect mate but I'm surprised you'd pay £19k for it. I know it's a rare colour but it just seems a high premium to pay.

I know you have a lot of experience though so fair play if you think you'll make a reasonable return on it.

Speaks wonders when a previouse vee owner is stepping up to the mark to buy another at this price. After seeing Carls car in France, its my favorite colour by a mile on a ph2 and if I really wanted an Acid the I'd prepare myself to pay a good wack more than the usual illiad, liquid and mars cars.

I guess I'm in the minority but I don't get on with this colour at all. Whenever I see one I reminded of Colemans mustard that's been left so long it separates and the nasty pus coloured stuff that rises to the top should be called 'Acid yellow'.

Ray Charles loves his though...

I have to say it looks terrible in those pictures (colour wise)

Must be a difficult colour to photograph, as it can look great in other pictures.

If it was A1 with cambelt change then I would pay 19k as it is though that's another issue.

Such a shame I had to sell my original one due to redundancy :(
IIRC I paid best part of 19k for my first one 5 years ago lol.

My next Vee won't be bought to make a profit as I will not be selling..... EVER!

LOL, is this the first time Ray Charles has been mentioned on here with regards to the Vee?

Stevie Wonder has made an appearance before.......

Fair enough mate, it must have been painful having to let your last one go and also to witness what happened to it afterwards.

You clearly have a connection to the car / colour so if it's what you want then definitely worth going for.

We all keep moaning about the prices being too low so we shouldn't be critical if a fellow member wants to be pay what is still reasonable money for a rare example :)

I say go for it. 19k for that seems fine to me, if your never going to sell than even better, whens the next acid going to come up?

:approve:
