'95 Clio 1.2 RL --> project daily track car

First of all i'd like to say hello from Slovenia to everyone. and i'd like to appologise for my english in advance.

I have started a litle track car project, and i've taken a rust free shell from a 1.2 RL, and started stripping and building up the "track car". ok now some pictures

Plan:


Rear racing suspension taken from a Cup racer:


Brakes, soon to be swapped for the 259mm from a 16v clio:

The 1.2 engine (only 70k miles on the clock )


Test fitted the speedlines:

Since i dont need a horn button i made this:


new bonnet, new tires on the speedlines

And from the rear:

Newley painted wheels:

And finaly the engine is out time taken: 1.5 hours

@JR: the engine will be standard at first, later i will get a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, a new camshaft, and a remap.

what clocks are those mate and how do you intend them to fit them into a mk1 clio

Not my clocks mate this photo was taken at my friends place. Those clocks are from a mk1 punto GT

get them in yours, it sounds like a challenge to me, they dont look half bad either... which clocks will you use in this? the poverty spec clio ones or the other ones aka same as the 19

Maybe not the best photo but you can see the clocks that will be used in the car. They are from a 1.4 RT model.

ah yes, i have the same ones in my clio, upgraded from the 1 dial poverty spec ones

are they just a straght swap

Yup. Plug and play But there are some examples where you had to connect one wire. Mine worked fine.

yep mine was just plug and play too, straight from a 19 into the clio, same plugs and all

aint they the same ones as in the r19?

I think they're the same.

Ok, i've bought the clio some new stuff

a 9-point weld in rollcage:

We'll be geting that into the car in pieces And yes that car probably got chopped up pretty badly
