Awesome day good to catch up with everybody! I was expecting a few more on the TR stand however when i arrived at 8am a load of clios had nicked our spot! Its a shame we couldn't all get in one spot but it was beyond my control. Anyway i promptly picked the best parking spot in sight which was the cliosport stand and i would like to thank them for the vip bands was awesome. @Sheryl_O picked up her new RS250 turbo off Paul from rs tuning so she was a happy bunny
After been offered 2 hours open pit cheap on the way down and promptly let down this morning i managed to source a track spot for 430-5pm. Borrowed helmets that didnt fit the best, wearing shorts (not allowed) missed briefing (LOL) no tools at all and we are on the track! Waved through get yourself on there! Meg is canny loud now one silencer and noise test said 89db!!? I have no idea how its that low i think the db tester was on the piss..
First time for me to drive castle combe, the car has had a shit load of suspension work since last trackday, so as with all the club days were flat out from the off! I heard there was oil on quarry and bobbies which with hardly no run off was not the kind of thing i wanted to hear as they are both fairly quick corners.
First time i have drove the megane In anger since fitting cooksports/suspension overhaul what a difference! Felt absolutely awesome. Kept my boot hard down through folley all the way up to avon rise - speedo was showing 128mph with late braking. Had it dancing at the old paddock bend at one point after carrying in too much speed no dramas though
to be honest nothing was catching us, i was following a LY R26 megane briefly (lsd i hear you say so handling should be epic!?) anyway pushed him into quarry and he promptly understeered like feck and started mowing the grass
No dramas with the car at all just highlighted the discs are fairly warped up front and the back tyres are lower in tread
No pics unfortunately as i was chatting to everybody but an awesome day! Definitely one to put in next years calendar. If you haven't drove castle combe then put it on the list as its everything you want on a track, fast corners and loads of space to overtake.
