5 GT Turbo 5 gt turbo down pipe joint help

Anyone have any tips to stop the downpipe to exhast joint blowing!!
No matter what I do it always seems to leak from one side or the other. I'm renewing the flexible joint tension springs mated to standard exhaust... only to find black soot all over the stupid adapter ring thing!! Evidence as if I can't hear it enough its leaking once more.

I use one of these mate, works a treat. Just make sure you use the correct diameter
Exhaust Gasket Conical - Mesh Gaskets - 2 1/2" - 65mm 2.5"

Thanks Mark, does it still allow some movement in the joint?

Yeah they just crush nicely to form a seal, just make sure you get the correct diameter. I use 2.5inch so measure your exhaust and down pipe. Also new bolts and springs are a good idea. Try and do the two bolts up equally as to not squash one side more than the other if that makes sense.
