2nd car insurance!

Does anyone know any cheaper ways to insure a 2nd car?

I'm trying to insure a 92 Honda Civic I've just purchased. Best price so far was £230 from Bell who have a special scheme on at the moment which takes into acoutn 5years of your no claims bonus on the other vehicle. Highest quote was around £370!

Stupid prices considering I've just had a quote for my Clio renewal £574 from Elephant. Group 3 Honda - 20 Clio!!!

Tried Admiral multicar policy and didn't really make much of a difference to be honest.

Any help or advice would be appreciated. I'm basically trying to get the Honda insurance under £200 now but it's not looking likely!

Dont know if this any help or not but i have just insured my 1.2 corsa [smilie=hide.gif] on a seperate policy with zero no claims and its cost me £190 Fully Comp through Swinton Insurance. ( Mind you i am getting on a bit now!!LOL!!)

There is also a limit to how cheap an insurer will go as you still have the same liability, OK maybe not the risk, whatever car you drive and that has a cost aswell as margin ... Cheap car does not mean cheap insurance there are other factors, take into account you bought the car cheap you still have to run it etc. but you should still be able to get value motoring Matt.

I insure my Yota and Clio with the same insurer so get a mirrored bonus on the Yota which helps and it allows you a bit of flexibility to negotiate. My Toyota cost me £800 but it costs at least that a year to run it with tyres, tax, insurance, maintenance etc.

Cheers for the replies Chaps. Think I've settled on £230 being the lowest which isn;t too bad i suppose so gonna go with them. Just ax then to pay for. Thanks god work gives me 40p per mile! :winky:

BTW anyone who doesn't get paid 40p a mile can actually claim the difference between what they get and 40p from the IR using self assesment too :winky:
