Geordie.....for the most part it's all down to your postcode/location....Greenlight quoted me nearly £2k and that was with 11 years NCB and limited mileage policy :(

I'm with Elephant, mines due next month - just been quoted £709.00 [smilie=cool.gif]
I'm 26 with five years ncd. I have a Romford postcode though :(

I'm waiting on greenlight to get back to me now (I quite fancy a bmc induction kit & they are good for mods)

 Mines up next month too.... - I have the PiperX and the OMG to contend with this time (CHONGO!) AND, I'm a bit older than you [smilie=icon_snigger.gif] will 11 years NCB....and a dodgy postcode....so we shall see what happens......

Greenlight got back to me - including an inductiuon kit they want £697 - but their excess is £100 more than elephant.

Greenlight aren't insurers anyway, they're only brokers & the dude (not Neil) wasn't very helpful at all [smilie=sad.gif]

Elephants renewal came in the post on Saturday - for £907 [smilie=icon_eek.gif] for a standard car!! Plus my additional bits makes it £979 !! - Funny how all in, on line as a new customer it was £709.00 [smilie=icon_scratch.gif] Thats for a standard car too.

I am going surprise you all now, im with the NFU, dirt cheap, low excess, £25 windscreen excess, 36, full NCB, cheaper than all the performance specialists, elephant, confused etc, worth a go.....

How much you paying matey??

No limited mileage, no restrictions (one 'performance' insurer wanted my VEE put to bed between the hours of 11&6 ! yeah, as if that was ever going happen) commuting cover, and off road cover( :D ) In case I decide to attach a gang of mowers on the VEE and give the lawn a haircut [smilie=yay.gif] I pay £492, which I think is quite respectable !!!!

Apparently im 37 now, not 36 !!!! God, im not very bright [smilie=drunken_smilie1.gif]
Anyway age is just a number, I look a lot younger, (only cuz im spotty like a teenager) :D

Hurrah..!! I agree..!! [smilie=icon_snigger.gif] I'm hoping they will give me a quote of £492 !!! (Obviously, I will have to lie and say I am older than I am, if you got the policy based on being 37...!!!  )

Hmm - nfu's cheapest is £1800

You are having a laugh !!!!! You must be...young? Naughty (points)? Have a dubious postcode? (you should see where i live...even the dogs have to roam around in packs) or short NCB?

In fact I was about to say, I was insured with them previously (4 years) on my Defender, I rang to see if they would insure me, and they said
" No problem, i'll just swap your policy over, you can pay the balance when your renewal is up in January"
I couldn't really believe it myself !!!!!!
Another quote I had was close, with a Porsche specialist based in Stafford, cant remember who, but you will find em in 911 and Porsche world.
Sorry Chris, was trying help honestly !!!!

Ive seen you on the giffers bit, and you dont look old enough drive [smilie=cool.gif]

I'm 26 with five years ncd, no points at all, but I do have a Romford postcode though. The cars parked off the road & it's got a Tracker too. I only do about 7k a year & I don't drive to work.

They are having a laugh tbh - over a grand more than I currently pay [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

To top it all some wally from i4u (or something like that) kept leaving me missed calls this morning, until I answered it- she goes 'we can get you a really good qoute - whats your reg ??'

I flipped my lid a bit at her, thing is though when i was on the nsu site in the bit where it said 'outside agencies may contact you' (or something like that I clicked no- then it said 'you have to click yes to preceed' [smilie=mad.gif]

I've had three different people trying to sell me insurance now (I just left the phone so that the missed calls mounted up)

Yeah, well i honestly did not think NFU were going insure me as Land Rovers and tractors are there speciality, so i did the insurance company 'rounds' and they were a right royal pain in the ass, kept calling me etc.
Keep at it though because the VEE has turned out to be worth all the hassle...
Oh and something else...one company wanted to know what other performance cars I had owned in the past.... I told him i got caught doing 96.5 in a 30mph zone in a Lotus Sunbeam when I was 19, that made him hang up
Had to go to court for that offence [smilie=yay.gif] Feckers !
