Megane 225 lambda sensors

What happens if the 2nd lambda is not present?

The first one after the turbo I assume is for the ECU to get its running data from, is the second one just to check the cat is present/working and throw up an emissions light if not or there's no reading?

Or will it go into limp mode or something if the second one is not there?

As you said the second sensor is to monitor the out going gases from the catalyst & if missing or faulty will bring a warning light and message on.
A secondary function of the sensor is to confirm the operation of the upstream sensor via known calculated values held within the ECU and if missing it can not perform this function.
Also if the downstream sensor is malfunctioning/missing and the upstream fails the engine will misbehave, besides that a injection warning on is a potential MOT failure.

Yeah it will, don't know what options rstuning have but there is a difference between dissabling the diagnostics and completely removing the sensor.

I've completely removed it and have no codes ;)
