A month into ownership [v6plaque]219[/v6plaque] has had a full service including coolant and brake fluid change and a mot.

It will be undergoing a full strip and rebuild similar to [v6plaque]196[/v6plaque]

Will keep you updated on the progress :approve:

Following its first post iv only recently started work on [v6plaque]219[/v6plaque].

The steering, suspension, subframes, engine & gearbox have been removed and stripped ready of soda blasting, the buckets are pretty much full of nuts, bolts and brackets already......I think I need bigger buckets for the ph1 [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Certain components will be machine polished to a mirror finish.

Subframes will be galvanised towards the end of the week so will have some nice shiny parts to look at.

Before the cleaning of the underside all water pipes, brake pipes, a/c pipes, fuel pipes and fuel tank will be removed then the dreaded under-seal will be tackled.

Under-seal removed from underside inc all pipework and will be primered then painted in Iliad blue.

Majority of the steering/suspension components have been prepared and is awaiting paint, few parts have been painted.

I’m still waiting on the subframes to be returned.

Very nice indeed!
(Happy Birthday btw!)

Have you had any issues with the galvanisation process ‘closing’ the subframe bolt holes?

Thanks kett.

The holes will have a rounded file or dremel put through them and the dremel will shave the excess off for the subframe mounting points, the threads will be cleaned if needed other than that it’s all good.

Another fabulous job
Strikes me that you are becoming the resto expert for our beloved Vees.
Any thoughts for taking on bespoke work for others.?

This Vee is bound to end up in an as-new state, which will be quite a rare thing for a Phase 1.

Well done. :approve:

Shame you didn't speak earlier! All the grit and shot you will ever need in the stone barn!!

Remember seeing this car when you had just got it and the body and interior are mint so will soon have the underside to match. Going to be a stunner.

Rebuilding will soon commence once the metal finishers return the parts.

Few more pics.....
