2003 Renault Clio 172 Cup (Low Mileage/Very good condition)

Will

New Member
Hello, I thought I would post this up on here before putting an advert on PistonHeads as I would like to see it go to another Renault Sport enthusiast like myself. It was first registered on November 28th 2003 and over the last 10 years it has had a total of four owners including myself and covered a mere 49569 Miles. It is taxed until 28/02/14 and the M.O.T expires on 23/09/14.

I have taken great care and pride in maintaining this vehicle since I purchased it on September 24th 2010, it is kept in a garage when not in use and it regularly cleaned and waxed with premium products.

I would describe the car as being in extremely good condition and over the past 3 years I have compiled a detailed record of all the maintenance work carried out on the vehicle, be it mechanical or cosmetic ensuring that the car not only runs as it should but also continues to look great. This document is 5 pages long and I can either email you a copy of it or If you wish to come and view the car in person I also have a printed copy available to read.

If your looking for a Renault Clio 172 Cup to strip out and use for track days then this isn’t likely to be the car for you as it has low mileage for it’s age and as said is in extremely good condition which is reflected in the asking price of £3650.

The car comes with both original keys, it has an OEM Renault front splitter which is undamaged unlike many other examples on the market. The 172 Cup ‘B Pillar’ badges are also undamaged and present, again it is common for these to be either damaged or missing entirely and all 4 wheels were professionally refurbished in July.

I have a box folder not only full of receipts and invoices but also:

- Two previous bills of sales from when the car was sold previously.

- Multiple magazines from 2002/2003 with excellent reviews of the then new 172 Cup.

- Two different original sales brochures.

- An original laminated sales advert.

- All the original handbooks supplied with the car when new.

- Official Renault press photographs of the 172 Cup that were produced prior to it’s launch.

- Previous tax discs.

All of which will be included with the sale.

The owner prior to myself also kept a record of the work they had carried out on the car during their ownership, with many supporting invoices.

An overview of the vehicles service/maintenance and M.O.T recorded mileage history prior to my ownership can be seen below:

Hopefully the pictures below speak for themselves and give you an idea as to the condition the car is in, but as with any car this age however there are a small number of stone chips on the front of the car and I feel it is only fair to mention these. The steering wheel also has some ‘melting’ on the top of it which as you probably know is a very common Clio fault. That being said it is far less severe than some examples I have seen and the thumb grips have not been affected.

If you have any questions or wish to arrange a viewing please let me know via PM and I can provide contact details. The car is located in Hindhead, Surrey.

Fantastic advert Will
I even thought I should buy it after reading it :salut:

If it's any help try getting it on ClioSport as I put my 182 up late one Friday night and deal done by Sunday :salut: big following on CS.

Do you know what? I looked at the photos and thought 'f@ck! It's got a back seat!'

Got to admit - I became a Vee enthusiast primarily because of my love of RWD posterior-engined 6 cylinder beasties. I don't consider myself a Renaultsport enthusiast per se - even though I have two!

All things considered - that is a very nice looking hatchback. It's really pleasing to see one that has obviously been given plenty of TLC.

GLWTS!

Superb Will. :approve:

Is this your daily driver?! [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Absolutely super condition, and a fantastic detailed ownership history. Don't think it will hang around long.........

Good luck with the sale.

Thank you for the kind words :). I do have an account on ClioSport but I am no longer a paying member so I am not sure if I am allowed to list adverts in their for sale section, but as you say it is likely to sell quicker on there.

And a boot you can fit more than just a baguette in!

Thank you very much :), It was my daily driver for a lot of time that in which I have owned it. But I often used the v6 on fine days in the summer. Hopefully it will sell quickly and to someone else who will look after it. If I could continue to justify keeping both cars I would, but alas I need to be sensible :(.
