200 better???

Just like the P's theres various castings.

Its like some have the breather port covered by a core plug like on the P's but some like this one have a small flat no core plug.

This one also has a smaller coolant gallery around the cylinders than that of the williams style ones.

Easy enough job to do, the inner one is smaller so it passes through the outer journal. You drift it on, I use a bearing drift (need to find it actually), you can use a socket, a brass drift or indeed a fat wooden dowel. They are not that tight a fit but freezing them overnight is a good idea as it helps.

I just need to pick a suitable aux shaft with little wear now, that means digging about the sheds and maybe even pulling a shaft out another lump.

Damn I thought my crank was bad :( You going to get it reground Chris or source another? Whats this aux. drive thing thats been mentioned?

not checked the crank yet Matt so not sure where you got that!

The aux shaft is the scored thing, it drives the oil pump. Its the cog at the bottom left when looking from the belt end of the engine.

Cheers Neal, I should have everything, got a few duff blocks still about here in 1.8 flavour.

ah lol mistake i only had a quick glance and saw a shell pictured plus a long shiny aux shaft which thought was crank.. in my defence i did have a bit too much vodka last night and am feeling it this morn!!

to much to answer that pm, I sent last night as well it would seem. you sure your not a student?

:D @ student... i wish! they have such easy none-responsible lives, i'm going to package the software up for ya in the next couple of hours and will pm you download link plus instructions how to connect it to the car (have sent you a wiring loom + the usb diag thing itself).

good to see you getting into it!

hmmm aux shaft pulley shell.. better have a look at that when it comes back!

on hold yes.

Actually its out in the back garden rusting up actually as I have nowhere to put it!

never heard abotu it, seen it plenty times tbh the ALL do this not just piper.

Although iirc the pipers were the most common failures on the clios, cliosport should have plenty of pics about it if you got for a look.

after a few seconds on google I found this, I know the guy with the site it came from which was odd.

Anyway
