They are dispatching my discs early next week, so I will assume you all want to know they fit first.

Cheers

I've gone with the K-tec discs as needed them due to using my car everyday, so i'm out of the group buy.

But good luck chap's hope these work out in the end.

Have you got round to fitting these yet? I need to replace my discs soon too...

Fitting my discs + pads tonight, they arrived today and look very good quality.

Will take some pic's and let you all know how i get on with the fitting.

Look forward to seeing the pics. I've held off so long getting new disks! Just had mine skimmed (just the lip) took a pounding after the ring!

Yep on the car, and brakes are being bedded in on the way to and from work over the next few days as i went for a race pad, then i can give them a good shake down and let you all know what i think of them.

I did however have a slight problem, but will ring K-tek first before i say too much.

Pic's and a proper report to come as at work at moment and not had time.

My revised discs turned up today - I will be able to fit these the weekend 30th/31st.

Car is at Renault having Cambelt done this weekend so can't do this until then.

Assuming they fit who is still interested in some of the discs (we will need another 4 people to get some discount as stated in my previous comments).

SimonLm - don't know if you are interested but I could meet you in Northampton (as I only live approx 40 miles away) this weekend and you could try fitting a disc to your car to check it fits - interetsed? If yes please pm me your phone number and I will call you.

Please start the list now assuming the discs fit we can proceed with the group buy as soon as possible.

Mine arrived yesterday (at last) like Blueboy I'll be test fitting at the weekend....

Blueboy - can you do me a favour and measure the total disc thickness, the depth of the grooves and then the width from each disc face to the ventilation slots...please!

News...and it's not good...

Bells are not drilled accurately enough to fit them; both holes for the disc mounting screws are out one by 2mm the other by 5mm - completely unacceptable. Disc thickness is also not right at 28mm instead of 30mm.

I give up; I'll be looking for Compbrake to make a full refund and I'll drop the extra money on someone who knows what they're doing...

What a bunch of tits!!! Can't beleive that! They shouldn't be trusted fiddling with brakes or anything automotive. 3-5mm is no tolerance to work with by any means....sounds like I know where im going now. God only knows what grade of steel they are using for the disks if this is anything to show how proffesional they are... [smilie=doubt.gif] Shame really, this would have been a good group buy too.

What a joke!!! I bet you are well pissed as I know you put alot of time in here.

Please dont right the discs that Mark mentioned maybe this could be saved with his alternative?

Must admit, due to just being too busy at the mo and with the guy concerned in Macon at the weekend I still have not got my hands on these, but we have done the pricing. Please note the term 'member' refers to an RAOC member although Stephen will accomodate a bulk buy if enough members here want to organise it.

these are the prices:
These are getting expensive now from Renault and we have had them remanufactured as two piece rotors and bells as a line with our other brake kits:

Here are the options:

these are standard on piece genuine discs
OEM Renault supplied £446.25 + VAT PAIR
OEM Renault RAOC supplied £399 + VAT PAIR
OEM Renault RAOC Member £385 + VAT PAIR

Two piece rotor and aluminium bell:

330mm rotor Straight vein £126 + VAT
330mm rotor Curved vein £137 + VAT
330mm bell Anodised £100 + VAT
330mm bell Plain £88 + VAT

Anodised in a colour of you choice. eg red, blue, silver, yellow.

All mix and match:

Examples:

330mm Curved vein Rotor + 330mm Anodised bell = £237 + VAT
£474 + VAT PAIR

330mm Straight vein Rotor + 330mm Machine bell = £214 + VAT
£428 + VAT PAIR

Prices include the hardware kit i.e. 24 special nuts and bolts to fit the rotors to the bells.

The other advantage is that when they wear next time you can just change the rotor.

These are high quality discs and bells. The curved vein rotors are AP equivalent quality.

RAOC Members less 10% on the above rotor and bell prices.

Group buy prices also available on request.

Just to confirm, these are not produced by Compbrake and have had my front disc for a pattern. Will post a fitted photo just as soon as I get them fitted and will not be making any orders until they are up and running on my car.

Any takers?

Was out measuring up for some spigot extension collars on my Toyota the other night - car was outside, up on axle stands and it was getting dark. Using a lamp and a set of vernier calipers I was still able to measure tolerances easily to tenths of a mm ...

So this brake business doesn't sound good if I can measure things more accurately outside in the dark ... I'm out ...

I will say though all credit to you Paul, and Max, for persuing this and attempting to pull off an alternate option to OEM discs.

Martin

Yeah I agree Martin. All credit to everyone trying to sort this out. Its just a shame the pro's turned out to be no quite so pro after all. Might speak to Mark Garner about those disks. Also, I'm going to look at getting some two piece rears made soon but I wont be sorting out a group buy until they are on the car.
