2 piece discs - anyone interested?

v6Max

New Member
I know the question may have been asked before but is anyone interested in 2 piece discs (e.g. bells and rotors) for the v6?

In the correct offset to run with standard AP front brakes with 330mm rotors (vented and grooved) you're looking around £430 per pair but as is usual in these cases if there's enough people involved discounts are available.

If these will be available next month, I'd be up for a pair. Im planning on replacing my disks with the K-tec 2 piece assemblies as mine are on there way out. Would there be an option to have them drilled as opposed to grooved, if not then not to worry.

yeah, but i assume that's with hi-spec 330x30 rotors (as per the k-tec kit)

AP rotors are nigh on £200 each!!

Not sure where K-Tec are sourcing their kit from although I had a suspicion and if I'm right they're making a significant amount on each unit moved. But you're quite right we're not talking AP rotors.

I've order myself a pair and they should be with me mid to end next week so availability should be fine for subsequent months. The "work" has been in getting the orginal AP discs to the company concerned and them then measuring and then coding the CNC machinery to produce bells with the correct offsets.

Yes - the disc dimensions and offsets are exactly as per OEM - they will fit under the OEM AP calipers with no shims etc

k-tec kit is hispec

will these be 330 x 30 max??

I thought this also,
I mailed Hi spec last week enquiring on cost for Discs and calipers all round, complete with OEM specs but they have not replied as yet.

Will let you know if/when they do

Check the group buy that's being run for 2 piece discs from Compbrake. They made them using an OEM disc as a template

I cannot read the group bay section; its only visible for club members. Are my thoughts correct, that
Compbrake will deliver a 2 piece rotor/bell with original measurements (330 x 30mm)?

On Compbrake online-shop is announced an Clio V6 brake-upgrade-kit with 330 x 28mm rotor/bell-combination; thats a difference in thickness from 2 mm. Are such rotors are compatible with the standard AP-calipers? Discs with 30mm thickness
are not offered.

Compbrake actually measured the OEM discs as 330mm x 32mm and that is what they have supplied me and Blueboy who is the leader of the group buy.

The contact at Compbrake is Brett but my advice would be to join the club - you'll save the joining fee in the discount alone and get access to the other parts of the forum...
