Clio 197 cup turbo

So seeing as my Boss was out racing in Spa and we had a space in the workshop! I decided to finish at 4pm and go for fitting the engine, bearing in mind, the old engine was still in the car, everything had to be swapped over, modify my shifter and get it all back in.

Waiting to be started! IMG_20190628_135340.webp
My progress!

Congrats on the dedication. Well worth it, enjoy. My 250 EngineMeglio, has taken time/money, to end up with a great car. I am on track with it at Oulton/Anglesea in September.

Not bad going that mate. Did you pull the box too? I guess you have to with the lack of clearance for the engine on the drivers side?
Yes Dave, pulled it as I swapped the box for my rebuilt r26 box. I'll send you some pics of what I did to the shifter, not as easy on the ph2 one which you have. Yours would need milling.

Thanks can't wait to use it again soon!!
Just looking at modding for the Meg rad at the moment.

It was touch and go, whether I lost the air con, but with a bit of fiddling I kept the meg Rad, and the aircon.I have done a few track days, where people get out of their car, covered in sweat, and I get out shivering with the cold.

I wanted to keep the aircon originally but the 3" decat was too close to the pipes and was rubbing. I got impatient and ripped them out!

Been playing with the Rad tonight, have it in position but need to bake some brackets, annoyed the rad I bought isn't great but it'll be OK for now. Might look into cores so I can make one that fits easily!

Need to get the IMG_20190701_195411.webpintercooler made up too!

Which AC rad did you use? Any pics please? I'm debating sacking it all off, it looks like a pain in the ass!

Where the intercooler sits behind the crash bar, mine is fixed in the middle of the crash bar, giving much more rooms for things. I didn't do it, that part was done when I got the car.

It's Alive...

Just the intercooler to sort then I can refit the front bumper and arch liner's

Tonight I sorted the Rad, fitted a new rh driveshaft, got the headlights, crash bar etc all refitted. Had an issue with the starter heatshield, but I've got a feeling it's the 197 one not the Meg one. Sure it fitted perfectly before??
