I went to view this on Saturday Ash. It’s a very clean MkI with everything original and FSH
The front bumper is in need of a respray in terms of two deep scratches and on the rear bumper where the number plate light is located has some very light creasing around it which was a little strange I thought. I’m not sure if its down to the little use but the backbox looked very clean compared to some MkI's I have seen, not sure if this would be suspicious or not.
I had a good look over it and can’t say anything is wrong, very nice to drive aswell and current owner is a very nice genuine guy. Its also been garaged all its life :approve:

Well the current owner seems to think nothings been done to it from his description so i'd say it was the second owner as james mentioned in the other topic that did the d.i.y work,
It may well be a rear end re-build then if you say there was some creasing by the number plate light, also if you noticed it was a standard exhaust and it was shiny theres a very good chance its fairly new as i know they taint VERY quickly, so that too suggests a rear end build... did you notice if the rear bumper screws had been moved or bits of paint flaking from by them? tell tale sign that mate
But saying all that so long as non of the panel work behind the bumper has dented in or split the seams there nothing wrong with having a new bumper or exhaust i think... accidents do happen
