A local chap to me is not in any rush to sell his v6 but is offering it for sale at the right price,

It has never seen rain, it was brought brandnew when he px'd his 182.

I dont know much other than it is an illiad ph2 in absolute original condition, it has been mot'd everyyear without fail
Only covered 1800 miles in this period

It is absolute showroom condition, hes not a club member on here but if youare SERIOUS in wantig to speak with the owner I will forward your details onto him,

A very genuine chap,

It is a true collectors car tbh, please pm me and ill forward your details to the owner,

Edit. My mistake it's illiad not titanium. Lol

55 reg. rs55 rrw private plate though..

This would be an interesting one to watch.....what number is it?

Guess he hasn't stated what ball park figure he is aiming for?

I know a figure but its not really my place to be naming prices so id rather leave it between owner and potential buyer, its not a club car but the owner is a mechanic and has looked after my vee since I moved here, was quite funny I booked the car into the garage where he works, not knowing he owned a vee himself so when I turned up in the clio we had a real good chat and that was that..

It will be a shame if it changes hands quietly...
...it's about time a 'galatico' made some waves on PH. The last one I remember was the moonlight 255 several years ago.

Wow 1800 miles. If its got full history this will be quite exciting to see how it pans out!

I can't help but think he is selling at the wrong time though, he's kept it for the first 8 years...but if he kept it in the same state fr another 8-10, he would be sitting on a definate profit IMO

Yes its genuine colin, hes servicing my vee on the 21st this month prior to the french trip so if I can get some photos I will, inc plaque number etc, its certainly been looked after, like I say completely showroom condition, original tyres and everything, also one of the nicest chaps youd ever meet, honestly if I had the cash I wouldnt hesitate in buying it, but sadly finances will not alow.

Hats off to anyone who resists the temptation to drive these cars! Sounds like a great opportunity for someone, I wonder how long it will take before cars like this pass the origional bill of sale? [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Unless he really needs to sell it, he should hang on to the Vee for another 2-3 years or so.......

Vees are a on their way to being appreciated now, judging by the 'chatter on the web', and the upward swing in prices since the end of 2012 - always knew it would happen but it did sooner than I had anticipated. However, IMO it needs that extra push by find their way into the established classic car dealerships and auctions, but it is definitely getting there.

Sorry im not going to quote any figures at present but if your serious in wishing to speak with the owner I can forward him your details and get him to give you a call..

It possibly will be advertised in the future but just thought it was really to good for it to slip from possibly being owned by a club member.

Like I say it's not my car to put the price on. So we'll leave it at that. The owner will not be giving it away. But it will want a home of pampering and not driving to preserve its future value IMO. But like I say if your interested in the car pm me with your contact details and I'll get the owner to give you a shout. Cheers

It is perfectly normal in the classic car world for cars to change hands without ever being advertised. If this is where the Vee is heading then it is better for it. Incidentally when I purchased #314 the deal was between the seller and myself, and it wasn't widely advertised - the seller only expressed an interest in selling that Vee. Same with the Alfa SZ, but that was on a recommendation by a specialist. There is no need to have set rule saying one needs to advertise to sell. As such, as Stevo mentions above, I believe, all interested parties need to do is to get in touch with the seller. If the deal suits both parties then fine.

Having said that IMO I believe this thread would be better served if it was moved out from the "V6's found for sale" section to a 'V6 discussion' type thread......

Well put there Dulan. Did you get my pm fella.
Nope, no PM received Stevo. Anyhow.....

I think this is the type of mentality we must move away from (i.e. the need to advertise/publicise). Sellers holding out until they get their price and/or striking a deal with the buyer is also an important factor, but this is largely driven by individual curcumstances.

The Vee is well on its way to becoming a (modern) classic. How soon it will get there is a matter of time. Hopefully, the suggested and/or anticipated recovery in the economic climate will not do too much to dampen that trend, and IMO as long as interest rates are held low (and/or disposable income remains unchanged), things should look good to keep things going until collectors, who are likely to be financially free, can get in on the game at a certain price point (possibly around the £20K mark). I suspect once that happens I think good ones will go past their original sale price, and where they will end up is anybody's guess......so fingers crossed.

PS: A bit miffed that the latest issue of Evo (#188, November) does not include the Clio V6 as a "Future Icon" - the R26.R and the 182 Trophy are, but not the Vee!

I am rather surprised the V6 didn't make the list especially as they have always rated it so highly.
On the other hand I am glad as I don't want them to appreciate too much before I get another ;)

Much as I respect the 182 Trophy - I suspect Harry Metcalfe had a hand in that.
IMO an R26-R is 'a whole lot of fun' but nothing other than a more focused R26.

My thoughts too re the Trophy. HM would certainly have had a hand in it. By the the same token I expected Nick Trott to have stuck up for the Vee.
