Some more shots of the 5G 'R' Style. Cage and seats in, new actuator and bleed valve fitted. Should be getting it back this week now. Just needs setting up then, and apparently a lot of rattles to locate and stop! Any body local to me (near Maidstone) who could help with the tune up - apparently...
5 Mot'd and taxed and running. Having its cage and Sparco seats fitted this week, new actuator and the boost set up , then I need to run it about for a bit, see what falls off and what needs tweaking, hopefully not too much. Have A5GDX going on too :0). Some refurbed alloys in black with diamond...
Can we have the R5 Gordini forum back? I know replies were sometimes a bit slow but it's a shame for the whole thing to be imported in here and then locked so we can't use it any more.
I know I can start a new thread about the latest tiny little thing I've done but I think that would make...
For sale a set of four Gordini turbo alloys which have been fully powder coated then the front face diamond turned, complete with machined centre cap but no wheel nuts,
The wheels have only covered 900 miles since the refurb and were fitted with new 175 60 13 KUMHO SOLUS tyres again which have...
After going right through my car dealing with any rust etc, its now ready for painting, only problem the guy that was going to do it, can't do it until the summer!
Ideally I would like it finished by April/May time. I have had to throw the bumpers, lights etc back on so I can drive it some where...
My mechanic has rung to say my actuator on my dini will not hold boost and needs a new one. What do I need to get that will be good to hold 20 psi boost. Think it used to be a T34 actuator on my 21 Turbo but not sure if that fits the turbo on the 'dini'. Anybody point me in the right direction ? :0)
Hi All,
The saga of my Gordini Turbo continues. I bought a Nodiz. The idea was that I was going to trigger it from the camshaft (using a custom trigger wheel that was (36-1) x 2 teeth - rotating half crank speed). However, that proved to be a bit difficult so I then thought I would trigger it...
I have a standard turbocharger on my 'dini, but it is intercooled. Are there any proven turbo upgrades. Always thought a T25 would work well with the spec and size of the engine (smaller flange I know). Is their a T3 based spec that would give really good throttle response while still having the...
Hi guys I'm after a standard carb standard turbo plus air box and intake pipes and breathers as my le car has gt turbo mods and want to put it back standard cheers
Hoping someone might recognise my 5. All the engine work was completed before the last owner purchased the car and I'd like to try and find out what the internal spec of the engine is. A guy called Neil Spry had the engine rebuilt but he's struggling to remember what pistons etc were used. Don't...
Does anyone have a recommended company/person for an engine rebuild. I want a as "new" stock engine to go back into the restored car (when it is ready!) and I have had one quote which was a little eye watering!
I could do with a few options! I will get the carb, turbo and gearbox done...
Just toying with the idea of doing this conversion as my engine went pop and I'm looking at doing a full rebuild on my C1J in Fluffy. I seem to remember somebody doing this conversion some time ago. Are there any guides or fundamental info that will point me in the right direction to get me...
Hi
I am now looking to re-start rebuilding my 1980 R5 Gordini which I have owned from 1989. I started restoration work in 1992 and then turned into a major rebuild which is still on going. I have used two and a half R5 for the spares including one 1979 Gordini and will also be breaking my R5 TX...
I'm trying to put together all the parts I'll need to convert rear drum to disc brakes. I'm looking for trailing arms with brakes attached or individual parts.
Rear triangle plates that the caliper bolts to.
Rear wheel hubs, with or with out brake discs
All the rest I should be able to get...
